Joshmom, good luck keeping the secret!!  While we were waiting for our sailor to come, we kept the secret from my parents.  It was hard, especially when they kept saying, boy we sure do wish he could be here for Christmas.  We kept saying, yep, we wish too.  Luckily we weren't fibbing.  He wasn't here for the holiday, but just after!!!

Blondie, congrats to your sailor & Joey!! What a way to start out, a fixer upper!!

And by the way, burrrrrr, I'm cold just looking at the picture.  Then again, I get cold with any temperature under 60.  That's why I live in AZ.

Hope everyone feels better that needs it.  Right after my sailor went back to Japan, I caught a cold.  Seemed like my body was exhausted from crying so the bug caught me.  All better now.

(((HUGS))) to everyone.

Joshmom, Let the countdown begin.  I don't think I could keep the secret.  I had to have the house perfect when he was coming.  Then I would shop for all his favorite foods.

Blondie, where is the house?

navymom3, thanks for the info about where to get a new bike and also yes, please pass along the contact info.  I'm sure he will like that.

2tymenavymom when my son was there he also had a bike stolen. However he had gotten his from asahi bikes. This is what he said he did.

I had a warranty through asahi bikes You file a report with Japanese police
Take your report claim number to the asahi bike shop and they will help you out.
Maybe that would be a good place for your son to get another bike at. My son rode with a group over there that also rode. If your son wants I can get a contact info for him.

Happy Tuesday!

Blondie - hope the house deal works out for Sailor & Joey. Sounds like a lot of work but they're young & in love so they can handle it.

Ok you new Grandma's (Kim, TLynn) we need more pics!

Anyone want to send snow my way please do - I love the stuff and we haven't got any yet. Good ole Missouri...some years we get it some we don't. Forecasted to get up to 1" tomorrow...ugh...that's just a tease!

Do have good news. Sailor got his leave approved and plane ticket bought...39 more days...but who's counting LOL It's been a year since I've seen him. He wants to surprise his dad and brother so I have to keep it a secret. I can't believe I agreed to it. The closer it gets I'm sure I'll be on here bursting with joy.

Have a great day everyone!

2tyme, that is so sad for him.

Maggs, funny, but we are getting the warnings and it is going north of me.  I think it likes Cheryl best. However, I would be happy to pass on all snow that I get this year.  Hopefully it will hold off until after Valentines day.  We are going up to NY to babysit for sailor and his wife.

I think TLynn is too busy spoiling that new baby.  We need more pictures.

My bike was stolen on base, and I'd only had it a few days.  No one steals in Japan, but bikes and umbrellas seem to be fair game.  Especially on base.

So my son is bummed. He bought a bike right before being stationed in Yokosuka. I shipped it over to him and unfortunately it was stolen last week. Just an FYI in case anyone else has a bike or is thinking of buying one. Get a good U lock and strong cable. His was one of five stolen.
