Good afternoon ladies! This is my first post in this group. My son deployed 4/14/14 from DFW to Japan. 1st deployment, assigned to the USS Bonhomme Richard. He is ABH. Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Blondie, the weather systems are conspiring against you!

My cats only go out under supervision.  Too many mean people and other animals and hazards out there.  I feel that if I am going to have them in my home, they are furry family members, and I am the steward responsible for providing the best life possible. A duty.  They are beloved pets, not disposable critters.  That is why I took in my father's kitties, little old lady cats who were beside him when he passed away in his own bed.  How could I trust anyone else with them?  They knew no other life.  Any other choice would have been cruel.  Now I have four cats!   Cat people are crazy like that.

Momplus2, I get rashes now and then.  Sometimes you need an anti-fungal instead of cortisone.  The wrong kind of cream can make it worse.  I also got rashes from medicines, and lately I am sensitive to commercial over the counter soaps scented shampoos and lotions.  I had to go unscented, and even organic.  Organic shampoo sucks.  Even body washes bother me now.  I had to give my neighbor an entire bag of really nice products.  Lavendar or cucumber washes helped my rashes, and sometimes an herbal salve.

Geez, I sound like a darn hippie.

Hello Ladies...Enjoying your entertaining posts. Haven't had time to reply lately. I have been dealing with an itchy red rash on my neck and chest. I have tried everything from Olive Oil to hydrocortisone creams. If there is anyone that has experience this annoying rash...please share with me what it is and how to get rid of it. Thank you Navy Hugs to All

Anti M...GREAT IDEA about the cooky sheets and pennies!!! She has lots and lots of soft toys....EVERYWHERE.  She loves to cuddle in my lap.  Just not sure. Never had a cat chew stuff like she does.

MIssMom, sending healing thoughts so they may all continue to improve.  Much Love!

DramaSoul, I love Passover.  I have been lucky to be included in friends' celebrations in the past.

Crate a cat?  Ha.  Haaaahahaaaa.   With cats, you must addressed specific behavior issues as they happen.  They don't learn the same way dogs do.  Chewing may mean she was separated from her mother too early, maybe she needs soft toys to chew on.  My older, bottle-raised cat carries around tiny stuffed toys... then tries to kill them.  Wear her out with play, that often helps.  Some cats are just attracted to killing paper rolls.  I got lucky, mine do not.  However, the Siamese claws everything.  All my upholstered furniture is draped in throws and covers.  I taught them to stay off the counters by balancing cookie sheets on the edge, with a can of pennies on the cookie sheet.  when they would jump up, the cookie sheet would all and make a terrible noise.  Cats hated it, stopped jumping up!

Blondie...I could crate her but it won't stop the behavior.  At least it hasn't so far! She has an appointment in a couple of weeks with the vet (1 year old!) and I will ask for some suggestions. The Bitter Apple worked on the cords that have been sprayed but I forgot a couple of cords.  Sigh.

Love the Captain Morgan pic!!!

DramaSoul, thank you so much for your prayers and thoughts for my family!!! I have good news. My nephew had surgery Friday on his jaw and everything went well. He has lots of screws and plates, but was successful. Saturday they discovered a puncture in one of his lungs and it was partially collapsed. They put a chest tube in and it is re-inflating. He was moved out into a room today and is doing better. He is hoping they will remove tube tomorrow and hopefully get to go home soon. He is still facing a surgery on his nose. Brother in law is doing better. Still on a total liquid diet. Other brother in law will have surgery on the Monday after Easter!

I am so excited for you getting to see your Sailor!!!!! Happy he will be home for Passover. Get lots of hugs.

T-Lynn, Thant you for our positive thoughts for my family!! I told my Mom this afternoon that I pray this is an uneventful week.
