Happy Passover to all!  Soooo happy to have found this group! My son is completing A School in Great Lakes, and I know they had a seder on base last night.  Not sure about a second seder, though.

mililanimom Thanks for your response!!! I called my son to remind him that he should check in with the Chaplain.

He finished his four years last November and did really well, including a commendation from SecNav, which makes me such a proud mom!  He's working and going to school now and toying with the idea of doing OCS and becoming an officer but went back in as active reserve duty (I think that's what it's called) this summer.

Hannah88 thanks for the reply!!! I don't  think mine is too shy to ask, so I will let him know...I have friends in the Chicago area who have invited him as well. I am just wondering if there is anything on base for the Jewish sailors. How is your son doing in the Marines??? Where is he stationed???

My son started out in the Navy but ended up in the Marine Corps. He was in boot camp during Passover and he and a few others went to a nearby home for first night seder. There may be something similar for your son, if he's not too shy to ask :)

Hi,

Is there anyone still actively using this group???

My son is an FC and is on hold at Great Lakes. He will likely be there until early Spring. Any suggestions for the High Holidays would be appreciated???

Thanks,

Mililanimom, my son is at North Island, Coronado now but will be headed to Guam in a few months, where he expects to be for about 3 years.

Hi motherof2dragons! At least there are two of us :)

Hi Lena,

I subscribe to this group -- but as you noted it has been quiet for some time. Welcome!

Is this forum active at all? The last post is almost three years old. Anybody?
