OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I have asked Cherié to help you with PERSEC and delete your comment on her My Page in which you gave your email address. There really is no reason to share email addresses since you can PM within the site until you know each other well. See OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile).

That is so awesome. Maybe I can send a present...or gift card to you to give to her and look forward to pics. I'm so excited for her and their futures. :-)

Thanks for the Friend request; I hope we can be around for some time to support each other. If there is ever anything I can help you with, don't hesitate to ask. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

Make change 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link). There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Since you have an SR at the RTC, you can change "Waiting to leave for Boot Camp" above to "Enlisted."

I see you have joined your PIR group; I also invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) there. The Page, 800 and 900 Divisions, will be of interest to you since you have a recruit in a performing division. I believe that Division 920 is Triple Threat. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

Since your future Sailor has a contract for Aviation Boatswain's Mate - Handling (ABH), you may also want to join Sailors In Pensacola, FL For A School....Corry Station too!!, and Parents of A School Sailors in Pensacola and check out Airman Family and Friends. The Rating Information Card for AB can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/ab.pdf. Your then Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend once you get the form letter.

If she is able to obtain a contract for a different rating, let me know and I can give you info on the new rating. A change in contract can happen, but she needs to be prepared to go in with her current contract.
