It's actually a Marine base but my son is in the Navy and is stationed along with a lot of others that make up Navy forces. And I would love to hear information from others about the area, or others that have family or friends stationed there.

oh gosh Pam...I almost can remember the answer to that, but I'll have to ask my son. He's deployed, so it might take awhile for an answer. Maybe someone else will post? ......
Can anyone tell me which gas stations are close to the base? I want to send my son a couple gas cards for Christmas and was wondering if there were any Shell stations close.
Welcome to the Group ProudMomS.. My son's a corpsman at K-bay and has been there since January. Although he trains a lot with his marines and seems to be everywhere but Hawaii!!
Lanikai is known as swimsuit model beach, cuz its where famous agencies have shot famous photos with beautiful women.... ..islands in the background, etc. I loved that beach--not high crashing surf, more like swimming in a pool! Stairway to heaven is scary that's for sure, My son has done it too and what a feat!
Welcome Proud! KBay has a small town, friendly feel, not so congested, and on the lovely east coast. Some people bike around, or use mo-peds & lots of walkers/joggers too in that community! The time difference will be an adjustment with texting/phone calls, with you being on the east coast :-(
(We love K-Bay's beaches too!)
Welcome ProudMomS Your son will love K-Bay! Mine just landed there a couple of months ago. This is a great group and full of information. My son was assigned a mentor before he arrived and What a Blessing! Look forward to any questions, etc.
Hi Kaneohe Bay Navy Moms! It appears that I will be joining you all this spring as my son will be stationed there with the Marines. He is currently in Little Creek, VA Beach. We live in Maryland so it will be some getting used to him being so far away. However, I am looking forward to visiting! I welcome any advice, suggestions from you all!
As always, you are a wealth of knowledge. Thanks so much for the reply.
