Can anyone tell me the cost of sending a standard letter to Kuwait? My daughter in law has her first letter ready to go. I am working with her tonight to be her signed up on Navy for Moms, the problem is she is in LA and I am in MI, so hard to tell her instructions via text. I think she is going to love it.
Thank you Judy for that information. I forgot that they don't go with pillows, so I will definitely send one over. My son said there was talk about getting a PO box at the Army camp, don't know if that would be better for mail. My son is a Seabee, so maybe lots of sun screen would be a good starter too. My husband has a bunch of car magazines, so some of those will be included. Oh and the Funyons - he has got to have them. I worry because he was just married 2 months ago and has a child on the way. He was very depressed about missing the birth, but realizes he has to do his job to support them. I keep telling myself that if I can make it through 2 months of boot camp, I can do this time as well. I keep figuring what time it is there. Sending text, not knowing if he will get them. But the effort is there.
My son is new there and I am anxious to send out a package to him. I asked about what goodies he would like before he left. Definitely planning on sending new socks because I don't think they will ever have enough. How long does it usually take for them to receive a package? Does anyone know how the communications are there? Will he be able to use cell phone or Skype?
Just found out my son who is a MA will be leaving for Kuwait in early spring...any comments on what to expect? This is his first deployment and we have no idea what to expect.
So do any of you folks have any ideas of what we could send our son in Kuwait for Christmas? We keep sending flatrate boxes with food, cookies, pumpkin bread, toiletries, etc. Trying to figure out something a little unique for Christmas. Any thoughts?
