Had to take home to the recruiting office yesterday... That was the hardest thing I think I've ever done. Going to Ft Jackson SC today and watch him be sworn in for the last time. Yesterday reminded me of his first day of kindergarten when most of the kids in his class were crying for their moms but mine was like "bye momma" I hope he is the same today...

So I chased the Fed Ex truck down the street after missing the package on Friday.  The driver was very nice about it and laughing at the whole ordeal.  I rushed home to open the box....ok seeing my daughters things made me smile at first then cry my eyes out.  I never thought the smell of her feet and perfume mixed together in a box would make me so emotional.  My husband thinks I'm nuts but I just miss her so much. Hope to see a letter from her soon.

My son also left on the 27th. It was the hardest thing I have ever done to walk out of that MEPS building. We were able to see him sworn in and stay through much of the morning with him. So thankful for this last summer with him. I know he will do great things as he enters this new chapter of life, but it is so very difficult to let go and not talk to him daily right now. Looking forward to PIR.

Its so comforting to know I am not alone. My son left the recruiting station on 8/26 and arrived at  RTC on 8/27.. I received his box  on 8/30....I have never been so glad to see dirty clothes in my life...I am counting the days until I see him...I think his graduation will be on 11/1, I say this because there are several moms that have posted their sons/daughters left on 8/21 and their graduation date is 10/25....I just cant wait until I get my letter and the next phone call!!!

I have been looking for more Mom who had SR that left last week........have found 2 so far until this page.  Please also join the facebook avyformoms lots of info and quick answers to questions.  We can all keep in touch quickly and at least knowing when each other has something going on with their SR.  Discussions are already on about PIR.  Miss Nell I noticed your date on PIR I am certainly anxious about that since I had calculated and thought we may fall into Oct 25th date although the next week would be my birthday so that would be an awesome gift.  Can't wait to see her again.  Any one have SR headed to A school in Pensacola after?

I've tried join the Facebook page but having a little trouble with it :( but I've saw the post where a sr arrived on the 21st and PIR was the 25 that would put ours on the 1st :) November has been very emotional for me since 2001 when my father passed away.... The only father figure my boys had as well so I'm looking forward to having something happy in Novenber!! Also my youngest son is in marching band and State competition in the last Saturday in October so we have our fingers crossed! And for you as well that would be an awesome birthday!!

My daughter is going to A school in Pensacola (AV).

Is Pensacola close to where you live?

rhollis6....I calculated 10/25 as well...but when I saw moms posting their Sr left on 8/21 and their PIR is 10/25... I wasn't sure anymore...lol....I'm running to the mail box every day!!  As soon as I know something official I will post...My son is going to "A" school in Pensacola...he is an "AD"

Talk to you soon!!

I'm relieved to be finding some other moms whose kids got to RTC on August 27th.  I hope y'all will post when you get your letters.  Mail takes longer to get out west.

Today (9/3) I got the box with my daughter's things.  She had written on the box, and I was happy to see her handwriting.

My kids stay with their dad every summer in another state (thanks to the court's infinite wisdom--that was sarcasm).  So I'm "used" to missing my daughter.  This time I'm missing her and proud of her.  I can't wait to see her again at PIR!

All I've gotten is that 30sec call 1week plus 1 hour!!! No box no letter no nothing I've been seeing moms getting the box even 1 with a call after a week (but I think it was a medical issue) but I thought I'd have the box by now I miss him so much!!! I've never been this long without contact

I know its hard and I have to remind myself to be patient...hopefully you will get it this week..The holiday sure wont help the snail mail....I'm anxious for the letter....lets hope all moms get some kind of info/box this week!!

I finally got my box today in the bottom it had a tag off of navy tube socks lol on the back was a simple "love you!" i stood in the kitchen with my bf and sister and just cried.... But was relived at the same time!!
I am usually the one with the most patience lol
We also received our sons box yesterday (9/3). Still awaiting letter. Patience.....patience......patience......
