Hi julee88,

Where is your son leaving from?  My son also leaves August 21, would love to keep in touch to share info. and support each other after our SR's are gone.  I'm so glad to have found Angelsmom, you are the only other one I have seen that have the same date.

Hi, my son leaves for BC August 21 also from Jacksonville.  I'm so overwhelmed trying to navigate through this site and get myself prepared for him to leave!

I am also overwhelmed, there is so much information. I try to get on here and play so I will get familiar with it but I too feel overwhelmed. My daughter also will be leaving from Jacksonville. We will be going down on the 19th to send some family time.

Hi, my son went to his DEP meeting last night and his recruiter told him that he will have to report to MEPS at 3PM on the 20th for the night and then will be sworn in on the 21st and then off to BC.  Were you told the same thing?  I was hoping to spend more time with him the day before.  Do you know if there are hotels to stay at near where they have to stay?

Yes I was told the same thing. My family is going down on the 19 so we can spend the day at the beach once more. I don't know how well my heart will be in it , but shell never know. I haven't gotten any hotel reservations yet either.

I just saw your answer, sorry, I think I've asked the same question 5 times, oops.  Do you know if there is a standard hotel that parents use that are dropping on their SR's?

Thank you that was good information.

I can help I think. If you look where it talks about the Things to do the last 30 days you will find it there.. I know how you feel my son leave very soon and he is my baby : )

My son leaves August 14. 28 days from now. He will not be 18 till Oct. And I to get emotional evert time I think about it. His dad and I are so proud of him. Does anyone else's child leave the 14 of August? Is anyone on here in Southern California?
