Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

So, August moms~ How are you doing?
My son leaves for GL on 8/8 and I am excited, proud, nervous, a bit sad and much more! Lots of emotions! He has been a DEPper since early November, so I should be ready... but not really!
He is in for 6 yrs because he is going to be a nuke. He says he wants to make a career of the Navy. Time wll tell.
I have 4 kids... a married son (lives close by), a daughter 22 (in college and moving out next month ~finally), my DEP son- 18, and my baby~ almost 15 yr old son.
With my daughter and my Navy boy leaving soon I am going to have a near empty nest, after YEARS of having a full, noisy house. I also hate autumn, so I am thinking I need to be VERY busy when that time comes. Life is about changes. I know that, but it sure is bittersweet to let your babies grow up!
So, how are you gals doing?

I'm not doing well if you read my previous post it explains a lot.. I guess because I can't speak to him whenever I want like I use to it's harder, I cry at a the drop of a hat.

My son starts BC 8/25 will be in 6 yrs min too he is going to be nuclear missle tech . Yours is a few weeks ahead hope you will post to let me know how it all goes. Finding reliable information isn't easy. I would like to know how much communication they are allowed at BESS , how much time between there and A school in Kings Bay etc.

My son left for BC on August 21, so it's only been a week...a long week, but I received my "kid in the box" yesterday!!! Yay! So that did help! I don't think I am going to wash his clothes until I get his form letter or maybe his first phone call or maybe not until after I see him at PIR...lol! Call me crazy but it is like he's with me if I keep the clothes intact like they were when I watched him drive away in the van from MEPS :) He is my oldest of three and I miss him dearly...my 14 year old daughter is actually a little more calm (not as much drama with starting high school...thank the Lord!) and my 2 1/2 year old has been so unbelievably good, I am not sure he is my child...lol! The waiting is what I have the hardest time with, but I am reminding myself that patience is a virtue! So, if there are any other mothers or fathers out there with a child that left on the 21st, I would so love to connect with you! :)
