Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Arrived at Great Lakes on July 12
Hey! My boy friend arrived at Great Lakes on the 12th and i havnt heard anything from him since i got the "im here" call. Im just wondering if anybody eles had their sailor arrive that day and if youve heard anything from them yet?

It usually takes a couple-3 weeks before you get a letter from your SR, and don't be alarmed if you have written to him and he says in a letter that he hasn't received anything from you yet. It takes a while for the division to train someone to handle the mail and until then they may not actually have your letter in hand. When my son was in boot camp a year ago, besides the I'm here call, I got one about the 3 or 4 week mark and then the "I'm a sailor" call and that was it, so don't be alarmed if you don't get a phone call. It does get much better when they go to A school. Just remember most of the time no news is good news. Hang in there!!

I'm assuming his family has received his form letter and box. You can ask them his division and ship number, then join the group on here PIR 9/7. The letters will eventually start to come. Yesterday was most likely the 1st day he was able to write to you. I got a letter from my husband on Thurs and his division had had a bunch of their holiday time (time in which they can write) taken away b/c they aren't working well enough together. My husband said he only got 15 minutes f holiday time last Sunday so if you're bf is in a similar situation you can see why he might have not been able to write you yet...
