How about Texas?  My daughter leaves July 25th.

Texas here!!! (Sorry - just read your posting). Leaves July 24th.

My son is going July 23, but not from Indy...he's leaving from Memphis, TN

My daughter leaves July 24. Shipping out from San Fransisco. I'm so nervous for her. I'm a mess just thinking about it.

I know what you mean.  We plan on going to PIR.  Right now I think about that  and how good it will to see her then.  Soon after that she will get her cell phone back. We can text again!

I keep telling my self  I can clean the house and spend more time on my hobbies.  Ha-ha!

My son leaves Texas the same day. How are you handling?

Hi, Rox,

I read everything I can find on n4m.  Then I cry and laugh and feel better.  I ordered t-shirts for all of us.  I  got the two recommended books from Amazon.com.  I don't scrapbook, but Hobby Lobby had some kits on sale last week, so I got the Navy one to start for her.  What about you?

My daughter leaves from Shreveport.  Where does your son leave from?

Yeah. It's been a few weeks since I combed thru the website. Feels like I need a refresher. LOL! I didn't know there were t-shirts. Books??? You're way ahead of me. :)

I do not scrap, but I have been known to work a cross-stitch or two. My granny taught me how. Several months ago I found a pattern for every armed service to be displayed with a picture. I bought it, but haven't started working on it.

My son will be leaving from Houston. We are having a farewell party for him this weekend. He was told that he was going to be in a push division... but I just chatted with a lady who said they don't know if they are in a "push" until they actually arrive, so I'm all confused again as far as when to calculate a PIR. I guess any time in September will be safe till we get a letter. Have you heard of such a thing?

Look over on the right hand column of this page about halfway.  It says "Navy Merchandise".  I ordered from cafepress.  They were very fast delivering.  I think the ladies t-shirts are a size too small though.

I found the books listed on the Empty Nesters Group.  "When the Eagle Invades the Nest" and   "Honor, Courage, Commitment".

I do stained glass.  I haven't looked for any Navy-themed patterns yet.  I bet I can find an anchor.

My ex's family is giving her a party the 14th.  She told me not to give her a party.  We may just have a hamburer cookout and invite some close friends.  There is a family reunion the 21st, so she can see some cousins on my side before she leaves.  And my Sunday School Class has lunch after church the 22nd.

No, I don't know what a push division is.  But I googled it.  There is a forum here on n4m for "Push Division?" that explains it.

Well, it appears my daughter is now leaving from Indy on July 25th.  In the past week, they've changed her date twice.  Hopefully, they won't move it again.  When she informed me of the changes I'd hold my breath hoping it wasn't months from now.  We're finally getting adjusted to the time drawing near, so to drag it out any furhter is keeping us on pins and needles. She told me when they changed her to the 25th, it was due to several others going in at the same time, just wanted to send more at once, rather than small groups through the week.  Therefore, those of us posting on this thread may have our kids together.  That makes me feel better!

GBATTS,

I understand.  You come to a point that you just want it to get here.

My son leaves July 23rd as well, but from NC. The tears never seem to dry up, and its still 2 weeks away!!
