It's coming very quick.  He is set to leave July 31st.  He seems calm, but I'm freakin out on the inside! He is graduating high school this month.  He's 18....anyone else have anyone that young?  I'm nervous but this is something that he really wants to do and we're so proud of him.

Wonderful : )

My son is 17 years old and leaves on Tuesday,  July 30th. He graduated in May, 2 months ago. I'm sure he'll be one of the youngest in boot camp.  He has wanted to do this for a long time and we happy for him. But of course, I worry and will miss him a lot.

Hi AZnavymom - we are all feeling the same! Only a few days to go! What is your sons job?

My son will be an engineman (which in civilian life is diesel mechanic). He'll be staying in GL  for A school.  What's your daughter's job? How old is she? My son is only 17 yr old, so he'll be one of the youngest, I'd imagine. Tonite is his last night home (we head to Phoenix tomorrow since they have to get to MEPS the day before). He is not acting nervous or worried, but I'd imagine he feels it but doesn't want to show it.

Wow that sounds awesome!!! My son left July 29,2013 and I feel the same way. I know he was nervous but tried not to show it....He's 18 soon to be 19...

Unitedwestand:

As you may see where I posted elsewhere - my son's flight was delays, so he arrived at GL at about 3 a.m. (I'm guessing). We never got our arrival call, so I'm kind of bummed about that. I think those of us how have 29, 30, and 31 dates may have our kids PIR together!

My daughter is AV - she's 18 - be 19 next year!

How are you feeling? Did you hear anything yet?

How are you doing AZ?

My son leaves town today, but leaves for GL tomorrow the 31st.

My son left today. Well, kind of. He did his final swear in and went to the airport (we went with him), but his flight is delayed! But he should be on his way soon!

my son is at meps right now

My son went to MEPS yesterday. The swearing in was nice. But his flight was delayed 4 hours so he didn't get into Chicago till 1:30 a.m. and probably not to the base till 3 a.m. Maybe he'll end up with your son's group, since he got in so late.
