Hello everyone and welcome to the Navy!!! This Group was started for the loved one of DEPPERS leaving in the month of March (although everyone is welcome).......What year you say? Well ......any year!

If you have March ship out issues/questions etc., need specific information, (or have some to share) or just want to talk to someone that is where you are, with a Recruit leaving for and arriving in BC in March, ...then this is the place to be. :-)

Remember, don't "miss 'em while you're with them!" :) Make the most of every precious moment together before they leave. This will be a big transition for both of you! We'll be here for you every step of the way...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Things to do in the last month before your future sailor leaves (Click on the link.)

Once your recruit has arrived at RTC, the next stop here is to join the group Boot Camp for Moms (and loved ones)  Hangout and ask questions in this group until your form letter arrives.

***New news just out today (9/25/19) from the US Navy Recruit Training Command FaceBook page:
Attention families and friends of RTC: Previously, upon arrival to boot camp, recruits would box up their civilian belongings and ship it to their choice of destination. Our new procedure now has those boxes being stored locally and will be returned to the recruits the day before graduation. The new procedure went into effect this week beginning with Div. 409 in Training Group 52.

Approx two to three weeks after your recruit arrives you will receive the "Form Letter". The form letter will include their Ship# , DIV #, their mailing address, PIR date, and the Security Access Form. The Security Access form needs to be completed and sent back to your recruit ASAP. Keep this letter in a safe place, it has the information you will need.

The date that is on the form letter is the official date for your Recruit's Training Groups PIR (graduation), Things can always change for an individual Recruit (due to illness, injury, failure to pass a final test etc.)! So, we always recommend that you plan, if possible, to purchase Refundable or Exchangeable plane tickets.

After you have received the form letter, join the group for your recruits PIR. There you can ask questions about PIR, training, hotels etc. Those groups will be posted in the Boot Camp for Mom's group.

Thanks for joining us. We hope you will realize you are not alone, and will soon make new friends, plus feel supported and encouraged! :)

**It is very important that your future Sailor be physically fit prior to shipping to the RTC (these are new standards beginning 1/1/2018) and that he be able to pass an initial run test. See Navy Fitness Standards"The initial run standard is evaluated on the 1.5 mile run of the first Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) at boot camp. The initial run standard for male recruits will be 16 minutes 10 seconds and 18 minutes 37 seconds for female recruits."

it's getting down to the wire, some tempers are shorter than normal sad that it's like that, but knew it would be this way.  BUT we are still making the best of the time we have together before ship day.  Looking forward to the day she graduates, how will she be different.   (she will always be our daughter)  But who will she be.

The BGP were working pretty well until I read Ginnibean's post, my heart is breaking as a mother, I am so glad  your own Mom will be there soon, and as a wife, couldn't even think about hubby leaving for 8 weeks.  Ginni I hope all goes well with the party today, I am thinking of you

Do the DEPpers need their drivers license with them or just their Navy photo ID in boot camp? Thank you.

Ginniebean -- I don't have a poem for you, but wanted to say what a sweetie you are! Such a nice idea for his mom.

Moms I need you!!!! I had the intention of making a nice little poem card to go with an anchor charm for H's mom and give it to her tomorrow, HOWEVER I'm running out of time, so I'll spend more time on it and give it to her at PIR....Have you all come across any wonderful Mother of a Sailor poems? If so please share = ) thank you!!!

oh DevynJ so sorry to read that...

well tomorrow is our going away party for H, I still can't believe that after midnight we will be in the single digits of this countdown...silently cried myself to sleep last night, while H wrapped his arms around me tighter than usual, what a bittersweet way to fall asleep...we had gone to dinner with his mom and step dad and you could tell there was some sadness surfacing, when we got home I asked when I could break down, he said after he leaves, I'm really trying...I apologized for my shortness and foul temperament at times, that's what happens when I hold in tears, he knows this and thanked me for trying so hard...I have no doubt that we will both be crying when he actually leaves though

My mom is coming in next weekend after the move to help me get settled and to spend time with me on my birthday, I'm looking forward to this, I am so thankful that even though I'm turning 31 my momma still thinks it's important to be together and to come help me unpack...even more thankful that she will be still be there for a bit after H leaves...

♥ ♥ HUGS to you all ♥ ♥

my 2 sons - I am sorry you are not sleeping!  I know - I text my sons recruiter on my lunch hour and asked if he had my SR address yet - he said no - not yet that he would check again before he left for the day - so at 4:30 I text again and said "sorry to keep bothering you but anything yet?"  He replied no not yet - and said not to worry about bothering him - I reminded him of his mom!! LOL  It made me feel better - but still want to know his address and ship/division info!!! have you heard anything?

Cannonpark - We need to start making BGP's that work!!!  We could make a lot of money!!!  Have you heard anything about your SR ship/div?  The not knowing and the not talking to him are just eating me up!!  I dont know what I would do without this site!! (probley have to find a good divorce lawyer!! ha ha)

Big Hugs to those that had loved ones leave this week!!!  And those of you that have love ones leaving Next Week - be sure to give them extra hugs this weekend!!!  XOXOXOXO

I am taking forevermoms idea (as she took my sign guy!! lol) and creating a ITSN 2B discussion!!  figure I will print off any questions, comments, funnies and send them to her - then when she answers I will post her comments!!  I will also post her address on my page so if you want it you can get it!  Just friend me if we aren't yet!!

oh - I almost forgot - I just added a couple more to the calendar - please be sure to welcome Navywifeandmom 3/2  and Laurelbc 3/29!!
