Hello everyone and welcome to the Navy!!! This Group was started for the loved one of DEPPERS leaving in the month of March (although everyone is welcome).......What year you say? Well ......any year!

If you have March ship out issues/questions etc., need specific information, (or have some to share) or just want to talk to someone that is where you are, with a Recruit leaving for and arriving in BC in March, ...then this is the place to be. :-)

Remember, don't "miss 'em while you're with them!" :) Make the most of every precious moment together before they leave. This will be a big transition for both of you! We'll be here for you every step of the way...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Things to do in the last month before your future sailor leaves (Click on the link.)

Once your recruit has arrived at RTC, the next stop here is to join the group Boot Camp for Moms (and loved ones)  Hangout and ask questions in this group until your form letter arrives.

***New news just out today (9/25/19) from the US Navy Recruit Training Command FaceBook page:
Attention families and friends of RTC: Previously, upon arrival to boot camp, recruits would box up their civilian belongings and ship it to their choice of destination. Our new procedure now has those boxes being stored locally and will be returned to the recruits the day before graduation. The new procedure went into effect this week beginning with Div. 409 in Training Group 52.

Approx two to three weeks after your recruit arrives you will receive the "Form Letter". The form letter will include their Ship# , DIV #, their mailing address, PIR date, and the Security Access Form. The Security Access form needs to be completed and sent back to your recruit ASAP. Keep this letter in a safe place, it has the information you will need.

The date that is on the form letter is the official date for your Recruit's Training Groups PIR (graduation), Things can always change for an individual Recruit (due to illness, injury, failure to pass a final test etc.)! So, we always recommend that you plan, if possible, to purchase Refundable or Exchangeable plane tickets.

After you have received the form letter, join the group for your recruits PIR. There you can ask questions about PIR, training, hotels etc. Those groups will be posted in the Boot Camp for Mom's group.

Thanks for joining us. We hope you will realize you are not alone, and will soon make new friends, plus feel supported and encouraged! :)

**It is very important that your future Sailor be physically fit prior to shipping to the RTC (these are new standards beginning 1/1/2018) and that he be able to pass an initial run test. See Navy Fitness Standards"The initial run standard is evaluated on the 1.5 mile run of the first Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) at boot camp. The initial run standard for male recruits will be 16 minutes 10 seconds and 18 minutes 37 seconds for female recruits."

Well ladies, I am no longer a navy girlfriend as of today. My guy just decided he doesn't want to try with our relationship through this experience...so I'm respecting his decision and letting him go.I am though going to see him off on Sunday, but not sure after everything we've been through I can wait on his mind to change or his return (whichever comes first) to see if it will ever be rekindled. I wish the best of luck to all you women with your sons, husbands, etc. You are all truly amazing women for standing so strong through your loved ones careers. I am truly disappointed not to continue on as a military girlfriend, but am glad I got to experience at least a little bit of another life with him. So I guess CMom, you can delete my name from the calender. :( Best of luck everyone!

foreverMom I think the no tears just means you were on the top of the rollercoaster..feeling pride as you were writing...don't get to excited the tears might still be there.  Of course it could mean that you found the industrial strength BGPs and if so please tell me where you got them mine don't seem to work all the time.

Well, it's back to reality - I am going in to work today - I truly needed to take off yesterday - I had a great alone day - cried a little and slept a lot!!  Still feel as though I was in a car wreck yet there is a peace about me now.  I just hope I dont fall apart at work!  I also was thinking - It seems so weird not to see ITSN 2B on here!  I have already started to write to my SR and her - If anyone wants to say anything to her - please feel free to message me and  leave a comment for her on my page and I will print iit off and send it to her - as soon as I have her addie I will post it on my page for anyone to write to her - I miss her too!  Hope all you others that had people leave on the 2nd are doing ok!!  Hugs to all!!

Thank you moms for being here! Saturday is our son's going away BBQ Picnic. We're excited and really hope that despit the weather predictions for Saturday (supposed to rain--boo!) that we'll still have a nice turn out. Luckily the park has pavillions and we've had ours on hold since January! My son has been getting rsvp's on his cell all day from his old high school buddies, last year's ROTC buddies and even a few of his friends from our old neighborhood when he was in elementary school! I didn't even know they still kept in touch on FB! I'm so happy that so many of his friends support him and are planning to attend. We asked that everyone wears something to show their support whether it be Navy or some sort of patriotic piece. I can't wait to see all the stars & stripes that show up!

Hi ladies! Today when the kids got home from school we went to my mom to spend some time with B. It was a nice visit. I talked to him some about leaveing. We also talked about his dad. I told him they needed to spend some time together before he left and he said he wanted to, he is a truck driver so B said it would be nice if he could ride in the truck with his dad. I thought that was a great idea. So when I got home I called my hubby and he said he would love for B to ride with him. So YAY. I pray that B follows through with it! Things are going good! Thank you Lord!
