Hello everyone and welcome to the Navy!!! This Group was started for the loved one of DEPPERS leaving in the month of March (although everyone is welcome).......What year you say? Well ......any year!
If you have March ship out issues/questions etc., need specific information, (or have some to share) or just want to talk to someone that is where you are, with a Recruit leaving for and arriving in BC in March, ...then this is the place to be. :-)
Remember, don't "miss 'em while you're with them!" :) Make the most of every precious moment together before they leave. This will be a big transition for both of you! We'll be here for you every step of the way...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Things to do in the last month before your future sailor leaves (Click on the link.)
Once your recruit has arrived at RTC, the next stop here is to join the group Boot Camp for Moms (and loved ones) Hangout and ask questions in this group until your form letter arrives.
Approx two to three weeks after your recruit arrives you will receive the "Form Letter". The form letter will include their Ship# , DIV #, their mailing address, PIR date, and the Security Access Form. The Security Access form needs to be completed and sent back to your recruit ASAP. Keep this letter in a safe place, it has the information you will need.
The date that is on the form letter is the official date for your Recruit's Training Groups PIR (graduation), Things can always change for an individual Recruit (due to illness, injury, failure to pass a final test etc.)! So, we always recommend that you plan, if possible, to purchase Refundable or Exchangeable plane tickets.
After you have received the form letter, join the group for your recruits PIR. There you can ask questions about PIR, training, hotels etc. Those groups will be posted in the Boot Camp for Mom's group.
Thanks for joining us. We hope you will realize you are not alone, and will soon make new friends, plus feel supported and encouraged! :)
**It is very important that your future Sailor be physically fit prior to shipping to the RTC (these are new standards beginning 1/1/2018) and that he be able to pass an initial run test. See Navy Fitness Standards"The initial run standard is evaluated on the 1.5 mile run of the first Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) at boot camp. The initial run standard for male recruits will be 16 minutes 10 seconds and 18 minutes 37 seconds for female recruits."

Got my letter today. Son left on March 13. My son is in Ship II Div 142. His graduation date is May 11, 2012. Nothing personal from him on the letter. But I know the Navy has done great work with him. I can actually read his handwriting. :) I love mail day. Now to send off some letters to my SR. I want to hear from all of you that have received letters too.
My son also left on the 13th of March, I also got the box on the 16th. It should be one more week and we should get the PIR letter. I hope it all works out for you. Missing one or the other would be hard.
Our son left on the 13th and we got his box on the 16th. Holding our breath for his letter with his PIR date! Our daughter graduates from college on the 5th and we're driving across country for his PIR which (God willing) will be after her graduation instead of the same weekend. I reaaaalllly want to be there for both events!
We now have updated info for the 05/04/2012 PIR. This TG ends with Division 140 and has a performing Division of 925.
So the next one will start with 141 and have a performing Division of 926. If you have this information and are interested in starting the next PIR group...please send me a friend request letting me know. I help get the new PIR groups off the ground.
I do have two moms in line to start the next PIR group...we are waiting for conformation on their PIR date. So I will still take requests just in case!

Hello!
I will be looking for the mom/wife/GF etc. who will be interested in creating the next (Hopefully 05/11/2012) PIR group.
This most likely will be a "mom" who's recruit arrived at RTC within the last week ...give or take...there are no exacts…ONLY my “guestimation”. Some of you will start receiving your form letters soon with your recruits PIR date in it.
New TG’s are usually posted on RTC website on Mondays ...though they have been later in the week lately.
BC can be anywhere from 7.5 to 9 weeks. It is also possible for recruits to arrive in the same week…or day…but have different PIR dates. Your recruiter may have your recruit’s ship/division as early as 72 hours after arriving at BC. I will take this ship/div # for the purpose of starting a PIR group.
Folks, if it is something you think you'd be interested in...Friend me, send me a message and get details.
Thank You!
FTLW
