My nephew leaves for Great Lakes - Chicago on Nov 26. My sister, his mom, passed away two years ago so I am trying to help him out. This website has been very helpful. Anyone else have a recruit leaving for Chicago?

My son leaves on the 25 to Great Lake too. Getting ready to plan a small dinner to celebrate thanksgiving, Christmas and his birthday before he leaves.

I do he goes to hotel on 25th and leaves for great lakes on 26th..

I'm planning on meeting him for dinner at the hotel, then spend the night with a friend that lives nearby and be back for the swearing in.  The recruiter said it would be sometime after 11:00. Is that what you heard?

my son has not let me speak to the recruiter .. I am going to call this week though. I want to do exactly what you are saying. This is so hard where are you from??

We live in Vienna. The way I got to speak to the recruiter was that I took my son to his 30-day check in/drug test and on the way there asked him if he minded if I came in so that I could find out the info.

My son leaves from Buffalo NY on Nov. 20. We are having a party this Sat. and learning as much as possible from this awesome website. His best buddy just graduated Great Lakes last friday and my son was able to go with his family to the  PIR.  I watched it on line. As my son put it - it was very special.

Teri,
The recruiter call to say that they change his date to 26th.

where are you Teri? My son also leaves on the 26th

We live in Vienna, VA. He will leave from Ft Mead in Maryland.

where are you leaving from??

As I said, Ft Mead in Maryland
