Hopefully their recruiter is working with them on getting ready to leave.  Here's the updated info - be sure to review it:

**It is very important that your future Sailor be physically fit prior to shipping to the RTC (these are new standards beginning 1/1/2018) and that he be able to pass an initial run test. See Navy Sets New Physical Fitness Standard to Start Boot Camp. "The initial run standard is evaluated on the 1.5 mile run of the first Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) at boot camp. The initial run standard for male recruits will be 16 minutes 10 seconds and 18 minutes seven seconds for female recruits."

SR1601mom, I left info for you on your My Page.

My son leaves on 9/9

My daughter leaves 9/10/19

Mine leaves 9/16, almost 6 years to the day my first Sailor left in 2013. Hopefully, I'm seasoned now, we'll see how it goes!

Welcome back. There have been a few changes since your first one went through. I left info for you on your My Page.

My daughter leaves for MEPS 09/17 and flies out 9/!8. Best wishes to all our recruits.

My brother arrived 9/17 at Great Lakes. Been having sleepless nights thinking about him and praying that he is ok. We miss him terribly everyday.

My daughter arrived 9/18, I’m sure they are both doing fine. I got her “I’m here” call last night. She sounded a little scared, but she quickly said “Mom, I’m good” before she hung up. Sending positive thoughts for all our recruits.

My mom missed the call because she was at work. But she said it was quiet in the background. The message was quick too. My mom is ok with the voicemail too, she keeps listening to it just to hear his voice. I pray everyday that they are all ok physically and mentally. It’s not easy being far from home. This is my brother’s first time to be away from all of us.
