Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

You will be able to enjoy extra time with your Sailor following PIR. Plan to leave late Sunday or on Monday if you are able to do that. (See PIR Day and Liberty during PIR Weekend.)

TRAINING SUPPORT CENTER GREAT LAKES STUDENT HANDBOOK has some info for you. It was revised 15 April 2019.

What rating does your future Sailor have a contract for or does he have a contract for AECF or E-PACT or S-PACT? I have more info for you.

Is your first Sailor still serving? If so, where is he stationed?

If you would like information on your future Sailor's rating (job/occupational specialty) or field, then let me know the rating or field. There are groups for most specialties and/or "A" Schools and knowing that will help you to better plan for PIR weekend.

Take care and blessings to you and yours.

September 16 will be here soon.

Be sure to check out the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month before Your Future Sailor Leaves for RTC.

Arrival and What Happens at RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what will soon be happening and what to expect. There have been some big changes since your first Sailor was at RTC.

Your future Sailor may want to join http://www.navydep.com to learn the ins and outs from the DEP point of view.

Be sure to join your PIR group once you get The Form Letter, which now arrives 9 to 14 business days after the recruit's arrival at RTC in most cases. Let me know when you know what division your recruit is in. I will have more info for you.
