Hello everyone and welcome to the Navy!!! This Group was started for the loved one of DEPPERS leaving in the month of September (although everyone is welcome).......What year you say? Well ......any year!
If you have September ship out issues/questions etc., need specific information, (or have some to share) or just want to talk to someone that is where you are, with a Recruit leaving for and arriving in BC in September, ...then this is the place to be. :-)
Remember, don't "miss 'em while you're with them!" :) Make the most of every precious moment together before they leave. This will be a big transition for both of you! We'll be here for you every step of the way...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Things to do in the last month before your future sailor leaves (Click on the link)
Once your recruit has arrived at RTC, the next stop here is to join the group Boot Camp for Moms (and loved ones) Hangout and ask questions in this group until your form letter arrives.
Approx two to three weeks after your recruit arrives you will receive the "Form Letter". The form letter will include their Ship# , DIV #, their mailing address, PIR date, and the Security Access Form. The Security Access form needs to be completed and sent back to your recruit ASAP. Keep this letter in a safe place, it has the information you will need.
The date that is on the form letter is the official date for your Recruit's Training Groups PIR (graduation), Things can always change for an individual Recruit (due to illness, injury, failure to pass a final test etc.)! So, we always recommend that you plan, if possible, to purchase Refundable or Exchangeable plane tickets.
After you have received the form letter, join the group for your recruits PIR. There you can ask questions about PIR, training, hotels etc. Those groups will be posted in the Boot Camp for Mom's group.
Thanks for joining us. We hope you will realize you are not alone, and will soon make new friends, plus feel supported and encouraged! :)
**It is very important that your future Sailor be physically fit prior to shipping to the RTC (these are new standards beginning 1/1/2018) and that he be able to pass an initial run test. See Navy Fitness Standards"The initial run standard is evaluated on the 1.5 mile run of the first Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) at boot camp. The initial run standard for male recruits will be 16 minutes 10 seconds and 18 minutes 37 seconds for female recruits."

Oct 24 https://www.facebook.com/groups/700004196721555/ Oct31 https://www.facebook.com/groups/1463938120551377/ Nov7 https://www.facebook.com/groups/286600068199508/ Nov14 https://www.facebook.com/groups/701094773306655/ I would like to let yall know about the facebook PIR groups. Having a loved one in boot camp is like being on a roller coaster. All of the admins of the group have been where you are and made it through. We are here to help in any way possible and answer any questions you might have! I am a Navy wife and Navy mom so I know both sides of having someone you love, whether it be a spouse or a child, go off to the Navy. There are no silly questions and it's a great way to meet others who have someone in your Seaman Recruits division or PIR group. Thanks!
My sailor is leaving on September 25 for BC. Hope that means PIR is the week before Thanksgiving instead of the week of Thanksgiving...imagine travel would be crazy the week of Thanksgiving.
Happy Friday Everyone!!! For all those with PIR 10-31 only 6 more Fridays until Graduation it makes it easier if I look at it that way !!!! Prayers for Good Health and Safety for all SR's currently in Boot Camp and for all us Mom's that we find the strength and courage....
I just wanted to invite those families that have sailors with a PIR (boot camp graduation) for the October 24th or 31st 2014 date to the learn what happens at Navy boot camp on both N4M and Facebook. We work hand-in-hand to help you learn the Navy.
Just a little about our groups. I run a website called NavyDEP.com. I've been helping sailors get ready for boot camp since 2007. Once the future sailor goes to boot camp, their family members are lost. My desire now is to get the family members on a path, through boot camp, then guide them onto the various "A" school groups. I let family members know how cool the Navy is, and the fun history and people that are part of it.
So, if you have a sailor that is graduating on Oct 24th or
Oct 31st, please join us on two channels. Always fun and interesting things going on....

PIR: 10/31/2014 TG 51 (to be updated; begins with Division 343 and contains Division 951)
Click on the date and join to connect with others with loved ones training with your recruit.
@amos ~ that's fantastic! Glad he made it safely! My SR left on 3 Sep. We have the box, but no Form letter yet. I guesstimate 31 Oct for PIR, but have no idea his Div or Ship #. How did you find out his Division so quickly? Thx for sharing!
my son left yesterday, got my phone call at 11:15 pm last night, he is division 354; no pir date yet.
My boy just left today. We live in Milwaukee he was sworn in at 10:00 AM left at 11:30 AM, I got a text from him that the bus had just pulled up at about 12:50 and then I received the call at about 1:30 pm. It all went MUCH faster than I expected!! So far the hardest part is know that I can't talk to him at the end of the day to see how things went.
