Cindy...thoughts and prayers are with you. Get better and return to us!
Kim...we haven't seen any pictures either! There is another site (that I pay for) that has a lot of pics of K but I have to pay for the pics now too. This could get expensive! Kim, I think you ought to take over the site until Cindy returns. You'd be great at it! I missed the boat. Whats SAR and to what ship is Alex assigned? Good luck with the wedding.

Hi everyone...very little activity online...guess everyone is busy with summer activities. Well, Kay was inducted into the Naval Academy on 1 July. We weren't able to go but have seen some pictures. She is safe and well and thats all that matters at this point! Apparently she has 2 room mates (during plebe summer) who are 18 yrs old and have never been away from home. She's been giving them moral support. Hope all is well with everyone. Have a good day!

Snowmc..thanks for your thoughts. We're really happy she finally made the decision to appy. When we left Texas her goal was to go to the Academy on graduation from HS but when we moved to Idaho things chaged (maybe it was more her age than the geographical move!). She graduated HS @ 16 and decided to enlist @ 18. Somewhere during her 4 year Navy career she decided she really did want to go officer. So she applied and received the appointment. The scary thing was she made the age cut off by only 22 days. So now she is on her way! I grew up in NJ and my husband grew up near Annapolis and when to the Severen School. We have family living near Annapolis so she won't be alone. We're hoping her cousin will be her sponsor family. We're excited. Again, thank you for you kind words.

Janes...congratulations to your daughter. We used to live in Annapolis and I have fond memories of plebe summer...the best one is of them standing at attention in field formation on the football practice field watching the 4th of July fireworks over the bay....made the event even more special. Good luck to her!

Hey all...sorry to not be in touch for a while. Haven't been getting notices of postings...again. Technology...gotta love it. Rikki Lee, not sure we've met, but my daughter Kay is also MA and has just processed out of her unit up at Bangor (Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor is in Silverdale, WA). She has been stationed there for 4.5 years, since she left "A" school. She got home today and leaves on Thursday to report in @ the Naval Academy on Friday the 25th. Pleb summer starts on 07.01. We won't be seeing her until December when she is able to come home for Christmas break. We'll miss our little girl! Then since pleb summer is boot camp for the new students entering the Academy (yes, she gets to do boot camp all over again!!) she will only be able to call home 3x during the 6 week session. Boy, we've been spoiled. We've pretty much talked to her every day for the past few years except when she has been "in the wire" (secure area of the base) and couldn't call home. I'm going to have withdrawl symptoms!! LOL. Once all the screw ups with her admission paperwork, orders that never got submitted so they were late getting cut, report dates that didn't match--orders say to report on one date and the Academy expects her on another date...now with her having to change her flight arrangements to match her date of her orders...I'm here to tell you this whole process has been anything but boring!! Looks like I have a lot of postings to get through. But, I'm alive, still working, just finished course #6 of grad school so am 1/2 way thru the program. Hope all of you are well. Are there any plans for us all to get together this summer? "Talk" to all of you soon... Jane

Hi all! Haven't posted anything in a while so thought I would send out an update. James is settled in Pensacola and enjoying life there as an Ensign. He has been told that IFS should begin in June, so flight school will begin. He is SO ready! Best wishes and prayers to those out in the fleet. You make us proud. GO NAVY!

Congrats, Elna. Is this your first grandbaby?

Cindy...what a cutie! Congratulations!!
Kay is taking her last final today. Her dad flew to DC today to drive back to WA so she can get her stuff and process out of her unit. After a LONG SNAFU with her paperwork she signed her papers for admission into the Naval Academy only 2 weeks ago. We were sweating it but knew in our hearts it would all work out. So she is officially a midshipman on July 1. She'll have some leave before she has to report but not sure how long. At this point, I'll take anything I can get!!

Cindy,
As usual I'm behind the curve! Was Morgan assigned to a Marine unit to go to Iraq? If not, where was he deployed to? Hope you're doing ok. Know we're all thinking about ya....
