Cindy...rest in the knowledge that he is being well taken care of. His commanding officers will lead him well. He has prepared for this job and is doing what he wants...he is where he is supposed to be and is very much needed. Maybe, because of him, another human will survive and/or be comforted in their time of need. Our prayers are with you, your family and your son.

Graduation is complete and was awesome. 83 new Ensigns join the fleet and begin to assume their new roles in supporting and leading. We wish them all the best with fair winds and following seas.

So sorry to hear of the losses in your families, Cindy and Margit. Please know thoughts and prayers are with you through this difficult time in your lives.
Kay is back in Annapolis. She had spring break for a week and made a bee line back to her base of record, Kitsap-Bangor in Silverdale, WA. Imagine that...didn't even come home to see old mom and dad!! LOL. Surprise!!! She was sooooooo homesick for her friends. She had a wonderful time on leave. But she is back (thank God...I was so afraid returning to what was familiar to her (WA) might get her to have second thoughts about going to the Academy after all) and in full swing with her classes. When she does get down, cause she is missing every one, we just keep reminding her to keep her eye on her goals and that she has the opportunity of a lifetime. She'll be ok. But, if you ladies would kindly keep her in your prayers I'm sure those couldn't hurt any, either. Appreciate that. Hope everyone has a peaceful week.

Just found out my son will be coming home with us from OCS graduation, but then has to move to Pensacola by April 16th for flight school. It's just starting to sink in that he will be gone for good....and the first one leaves home forever :(

Hello everyone!

My daughter's Irish dance school (An Daire Academy) is holding a book fair at Barnes and Noble on March 13th and 14th. We receive a portion of all sales in the stores (this includes all purchases...even in the cafe!) You can even shop online from March 13-18 using our bookfair number 10141984. This number must also be used when making a purchase in the store, otherwise, we do not receive our portion of the proceeds. You can also pre-order Cheesecake Factory cheesecakes from the cafe...what a perfect Easter dessert!

If you live in Boise or the surrounding area, we are performing both days at 2pm. Saturday will be a larger performance. If you come, please let me know. I will be the one announcing.

Please help us raise money to keep our school running If you are considering buying books/gifts/music...anything...you can really help us out.

I know that this is not what this forum was set up for, but I thought maybe other Navy families would be willing to chip in. If you decide to participate...thank you very much...we really appreciate it!
