Hello ladies! I have been on this site very little since I joined 2 weeks ago. Iam in Lewiston & my son Bren left 17 Feb for Great Lakes. I recieved the "package" yesterday & a note today about graduation date & mailing info. This has been a very emotional journey for me but day by day it seems to get better. Would love to get to know you all! ~Andrea

As long as it is during the day, I am fine. Just let me know!

can't be at the get together as I have CPR class. Have fun, though! See you next time.

No, they didn't have K shovel snow. It would have given her something to do! I don't think anyone got assigned to shovel on the support side until several days after the snow ended. She did get out sometime on Thursday. Was able to spend time with her cousin and their kids. They had class on Friday. Expecting more snow for them on Monday-Tues (by all weather reports).

Happy Valentine's Day, Ladies!

Kim,
I seem to be behind the curve here. Isn't "A" in BUDS or another seal training? Is he doing something different?
03.20 doesn't work for me...have to take a CPR class. OMG...after 35+ years in health care you'd think they'd just hand me the new card every 2 years (LOL). Guess they figure I need the practice! Oh well.....
Kay is in the depth of the snow in the DC area. The Academy has been shut down for 4 days and since they expect more snow early part of next week not sure how many days she'll have class next week. She's at the stage of real boredom right about now since her car is buried in snow and the Gov. has put a driving ban in place to keep people off the roads. Since she is still active duty (just on temporary orders) her barracks are across the river (from all the midshipmen) on the support services side. Not much going on that side of the river. She's a survivor. Wish some of that snow had been dumped here!

March works for me.
I'm finally getting notifications again. Lets all say a prayer the computer gods are with us so we can reach out and talk to each other! Have a good week.

I sent a report to the site...gues they are working on it as I've not heard anything specific about a fix or whatever. We were very lucky with the weather on the trip as we ended up in between storms. We had great weather the whole way. The most snow we encountered was in IA and it was manageable.
A gathering sounds like fun. Anywhere is fine with me. Let me know. I just have to make a mental note to check the site more often!

Kim,
Haven't kept up lately either because I'm not getting any notifications that something has been posted. I really rely on that email to remind me to check the site. Will contact main people and see whats up. According to my settings everything should be a go.
Kay is well. Our cross country trip to Annapolis was fun. Her orders indicated she was to report 01.02.10 (Sat) and when she called the CPO he told her to report on Monday. Monday came around and on our way to base he called and told her to report Tues. So on Tues we get there, she reports, he explains to her that her only job is to take classes then he tells her he has to route a chit up the chain to get her a private room. Since she is a female PO and there are no other female PO's in the Enlisted housing, she gets a private. Well, that took another 3 days to get that arrange. Now, they knew she was to report for over a month. But, thats the Navy. Luckily my sister in law lives just south of Annapolis so she was able to stay with her. So far her classes are going pretty well. She misses her friends and family but knows this is part of her goal.

So, hi everyone. Hope everyone had a wonderful New Year!

Welcome jordosmom. Let me know if you have any questions about OCS. My son is currently in his 4th week...becomes a true OC this week. There is tons of information and support in the OCS group on N4Ms. Navy moms rock!
