Merry Christmas to All !!!
Slight change in plans...I will be driving cross country with Kay the final week of December. Her report date is 2 Jan. Wish me luck! This may be our final road trip for a while (sniff..sniff).
Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season.

Welcome, "rivron2mom" to the site. My husband was riverene back in the '70s and was on gun boats. Our daughter really wanted to transfer to riverene when the units were re-established but they won't allow women. I think my husband was very silently thanking God for that decision by the Navy! Sounds like your son is enjoying himself. Hope you find the site interesting.

Hey guys...would have posted sooner but for whatever reason my "follow" icon got clicked and I wasn't receiving emails. You know, sometimes its outta sight outta mind. Got to thinking today I hadn't heard from anyone so decided to check. Enough of that!!
I ended up getting a plug in fake candle (1.79 @ Walgreens) and blue light bulbs (2/$3-pack of 4 multi color- @ Walgreens) and put that in my window. There are also blue colored night light bulbs at Wally World and they keep them in stock all the time. So, my light is burning!
I passed statistics with a B. I was extremely happy. Now in health care informatics. Thats going OK for now.
Kay found out she will go TAD to the Naval Academy for 5 months beginning in January. She will take 3 courses there before she begins her pleb year. Since she has been out of high school for 5 years they are doing this to get her ready for the academic rigors. I know she will do fine. She is excited-as are we! My husband, Bill, will drive with her from Boise to Anapolis as she will be able to keep her car since she is TAD and not officially a midshipman. She'll return to Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor (current duty station) in May, process out, take leave then return to Anapolis in July. But, you all know the Navy. This is how it is today. Never know what tomorrow will bring!! Hope all is well with each of you.

Will let you guys know how I faired in statistics when I find out. This week I start healthcare informatics. That should be a fun class. Hope all is well with everyone.

sorry guys...I teach nursing at Apollo College. The state board of nursing requires instructors to have a Master of Science Degree in Nursing. I have a Master of Science Degree in Healthcare Administration, but, that was over 20 years ago. So, now I'm back among the ranks of students but their all invisible. I'm taking the course on line. Its not as easy as some might think. Right now I'm in an Advanced Statistics course and its kicking my butt. I have a paper due this weekend and a final next week. I just want to pass the stupid thing!! Hope all is well with everyone's sailors. Have a nice weekend.

Thanks for looking. As part of my "weekend outing" I'll look at the craft stores. Can do that after I try to get a H1N1 vaccine. Otherwise, I'll be buried doing my statistics paper. Once that is done, I get to prep for the final and take it by Wednesday. Then this course is over! YES!!! The 24th-25th I'll actually have a whole weekend off with no studying to do. My house is so looking forward to getting cleaned!! Will let all y'all know if I find anything. Later.....

I want to find a flameless blue candle. Anyone have an idea where I can find one in the Boise area? Thanks.

Sharon--I think it would be great to bring Catie. That first visit is so special. You just don't want to let her out of your sight!

Kim--what do we say? How long?
