Robin...how very thoughtful of you to do the ribbon for Bowe and his family. The cross looks like it is in such a peaceful spot. Thanks for doing that.

Yes, Cindy, for the majority of the time she really enjoys it. You know how kids are at 22, though! Somedays good, others not so good. I think the good ones far outweighs the bad.

Been out of touch (with reality, sometimes!) lately as I've been swamped with work (teaching new nurses) and going to graduate school. Fun, huh? Anyway.... does anyone have an update on the soldier from Hailey? I haven't heard anything for at least a week.
We did get up to Silverdale, WA to Kay's re-enlistment ceremony. It was really nice. Her dad and I both received certificates from the command for our "unselfish, faithful and devoted service during our daughter's naval career. Our unfailing support and understanding helped to make possible their daughter's lasting contribution to the nation". I cried inside... of course I couldn't do it on the outside!! Kay was also awarded her second Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. Bet you can't tell I'm just a little proud of my girl. She continues to wait to hear about acceptance into the Naval Academy. She'll stay at her current duty station until she hears from the Academy.
Hope all is well with everyone and y'all are enjoying your summer. Hope all of your sailors are well.

Cindy,
That sounds like a great activity for the group. But....with the 2nd in the middle of the week, may be a challenge. I know I usually teach on Wednesday's. But (again, a "but" - LOL!) if Robin's sailor doesn't arrive until the evening it could really be fun! How do the rest of you feel? Wouldn't it be great to get news coverage, too (or newspaper) to get some press coverage for the group? Like you said, all the attention seems to go to AF and Guard. People need to remember there are other branches represented. I think Dads need to join us. Isn't there a Navy for Dads, too? They can get their shirts, we can get ours. Just my last creative thought before I turn in for the night!! Talk to y'all later.

September sounds good...maybe towards the middle to end of the month. Hope everything is going well for all of you. Happy Summer!

Hi all....hope everyone had a restful Memorial Day Weekend and that you had an opportunity to get in touch with your sailors! We were lucky to have Kay home on weekend leave. It was nice having her around for 72 hours. Have a good one!

Happy Mother's Day, everyone. Hope all y'all are doing OK...not much activity within the group lately. Take care.

Cindy,
Not much going on here. Her PCS won't be until October but still slated for re-enlistment in July. She is still tied up with the inspection so we haven't heard much from her in the past 3 weeks. I know she'll be glad when thats over! Hope everyone is well.

Sharon,
Just a note.....May 10th is Mother's Day. Maybe the following week?

All good thoughts and prayers are with you, Avalon and the rest of your family, Kristi. I'll even say a novena if you need one (and thats a lot of prayers!). Unfortunately, you know the only thing you can do is wait, wait and then wait some more. You know she will contact y'all as soon as the restriction is lifted. I know it's hard; know you'll get all the support you need from each of the ladies on this site. We're here for you.
