Hi ladies, I don't really know any of you... but thinking of you, Jane, regarding your recovery!

Just heard today that my son's group will be graduating with "honors" on the 10/21 PIR!  He's not much of a writer, but was thrilled with the one letter he wrote!  Missed his only call and will be looking forward to one this week!  I get to hear more through his fiancee (she write daily:-)

Blessings to your families!

Hi all...looks like postings have been slim over the past few months.  Thought I'd catch you up to date on my happenings:  I survived a spinal fusion from T10 to S2 and repair of  a scoliosis on Sept 9.  I spent 6 days @ St. Lukes then shipped over to the Elks where I spent 9 days there for rehab.  I've been home for 2 weeks.  Hard to believe tomorrow marks the 1  month date since surgery.  I have to wear a bone stimulator for four hours per day for the next 6 months.  I also have to wear a brace when I go out of the home or extensive work in my home office.  That's supposed to be for the next 4 weeks.  Then I also have aquatic therapy for 4-6 weeks.  Not sure when I'll be returning to work.  Figure I'll know more after my next surgeon visit.

I've thought of you ladies often during this adventure hoping all of you are doing ok and all is well with your children.  Kay has entered her 2nd year (youngster year) @ the academy.  She is doing well so far.

Any get togethers planned?  Please let me know.

Hope to hear from y'all soon.  Jane

Sharon, Thankyou so much for the info, I really appreciate your time. My son is going to Pensacola for A school, so i figured he would leave soon after PIR. At least that gives me an idea of how many days to book. And we will fly in the day before, hopefully with no problems!!!

Hi everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Sue and my son left for bootcamp 17th August, so it's already been a week. We received his box yesterday and look forward to a call whenever it maybe!!!

We are so proud of his decision to join the Navy and support him in every way. My husband is retired Airforce after serving 22 years, and no he's not upset our son didn't pick the Airforce too!!...if only we could get our 20 year old son to join too!!

Glad to be a member of this website, I'm sure it will be a great help to me and I look forward to meeting other Moms at PIR,

Congratulations to all the new Navy moms and to those of you who have been able to visit with your sailors.  We leave Sept. 14th for Oklahoma to attend our son's winging...NFO on the E6.  Go Navy!

Leaving in the morning for PIR, for those of you just getting started, hang in there, it will be here way sooner than you think. Best advise I think is the olkd saying "no news is good news". I only got three calls. A 1 minute, 30 minute half way thru, and 1 hour in the end. Now I will just go there and see him! Write them lots cause that is the only way they really can communicate, and my boy said that was what made his days!

Saw my son off to Boot Camp this afternoon.  Got the call that they arrived in Chicago.  Aren't we so proud of our kids?  Looking ahead to graduation.
