Hello
We look forward to hearing about your sailors journey. How he/she likes being an MAA (MA) and which kind of job they are doing and how you are doing knowing what your sailor does for a living.
NOTE: Please help keep our sailors safe. Don't give out exact locations.Example: If he/she is in Iraq you can say Iraq but I would not say the name of the camp or a town near the camp. If they are on a ship don't give the last known location. Although some of that is public we don't in anyway want to jeopardize them.

For those that just got orders for Norfolk...I think you will like love it except for the traffic. My son chose Norfolk and has been there since April 3rd. He's not married so he's living on base and his living quarters are GREAT!! He has a room to himself. He shares a common area which has a bathroom complete with two linen cabinets, a kitchen area with full size fridge, ceramic 2 eye stove top, bar counter with three bar stools AND WASHER AND DRYER in their room. Norfolk base is huge and there are several other bases within 15 miles. Beach is close by also. My son loves it but there but it helps that he's only 3 hours from his family and friends. Good luck to you all that have loved ones graduating!!

Hi Eric's wife, Steve said he doesn't know much about different neighborhoods, but Vacaville is a very nice area. Very pretty. Good Luck

saw this in a magazine, thought i'd pass it on:

This year canvas on demand, a company that turns your photos into canvas portraits is offering a 16x20 picture to any mom of a deployed service member. Your sailor just needs to go to www.canvasondemand.com and register under "operation mom".

@Mel: Yeah we have the "verbal" ones, so just waiting on the paper orders, but Im pretty sure going on what my husband said, that the orders probably won't changes, so Norfolk here we come!!!
