Hello
We look forward to hearing about your sailors journey. How he/she likes being an MAA (MA) and which kind of job they are doing and how you are doing knowing what your sailor does for a living.
NOTE: Please help keep our sailors safe. Don't give out exact locations.Example: If he/she is in Iraq you can say Iraq but I would not say the name of the camp or a town near the camp. If they are on a ship don't give the last known location. Although some of that is public we don't in anyway want to jeopardize them.

Has anyone received orders yet? My hubby's class should be finding out in the next week or so...keeping my fingers crossed for next week! =)

Don't worry. At A school you can talk with your sailor on a regular basis, and he will after a couple of weeks get liberty. It is much different from boot camp. Again study, that is the key. It is physical but more cerebral than physical. Good Luck and God bless. Janie Florida Keys

I agree with Janie... Have your hubby study like crazy! The more he does well on, the better! It will give him a better opportunity to pick a duty station. Take care of yourself so your hubby doesn't have the "homefront" to worry about. Often times, stresses from home translate into poor performance on exams and other things they are dealing with. The more "up-beat" you can be, the better. Take care and God Bless you and your hubby! I will keep you in my prayers. Chaly

Have him study, study and more study. Their class rank gives them a better chance of picking their duty station. Join SA moms. It will give you a week by week description of what to expect. Good Luck

Hello All! I am grateful for my Sailor, Justin every day! He graduated MAA school here in SA last June (09). Because I live here, I was able to watch his graduation. I was so very proud when he was named the Class Leader for his class. His name was put on the wall and everything! He began his Navy career on Sept. 19, 2001. He has been in Italy, Guantanamo Bay, and then here on the east coast before he was sent to his latest "home" on the USS Carl Vinson. He changed his rate to MA after leaving Italy. Of course, the Vinson is in Haiti right now ~ helping with the effort after their big earthquake. I am a little anxious, knowing he is a MA2 and what all his job entails... I wonder what he will be doing there in Haiti and am also concerned that if he is boots on ground, will he be exposed to some dreadful illness due to the deaths and diseases that are running rampant right now. I know that our navy will do all it can to protect my sailor ~ OUR sailors ~ but still... He became recently engaged to a wonderful girl and I am so very proud of him. Does anyone here have anyone aboard the Vinson right now? Any news you can give me? Anyone know what to expect? I look forward to any emails that I get from Justin (via his fiancee). LOL Anyway, my prayers are with all of our sailors. God Bless. Chaly
