Hello
We look forward to hearing about your sailors journey. How he/she likes being an MAA (MA) and which kind of job they are doing and how you are doing knowing what your sailor does for a living.
NOTE: Please help keep our sailors safe. Don't give out exact locations.Example: If he/she is in Iraq you can say Iraq but I would not say the name of the camp or a town near the camp. If they are on a ship don't give the last known location. Although some of that is public we don't in anyway want to jeopardize them.

Sometimes they change orders so that they go straight to first duty station or interim base rather than going back to SA after the leave. My son's orders changed after he got home on leave (as did several others at the time) and he was to go straight to VA to fly out from there rather than going back to SA. We attempted to get his plane tickets changed and it was going to cost quite a bit more than what the Navy was going to reimburse, so he got it approved to go back to SA and leave from there on military transport.

I've probably asked this before - but has anyone heard of RAVEN training for MA's?? I've done all the Google and youtube looks - but not heard too much about it on here!

If your sailor works with a recruiter during the leave between A School and the first duty station, make sure that the recruiter signs the form and that your sailor remembers to get it. My sailor worked with the recruiter, but left it in the recruiting office the last day and I don't know if he got credit for it or not--I don't think so.

Since July 4 is on a Saturday this year, it should not affect the 7 weeks of training. They may get to take part in some parades.

Hi MAA moms, just wanted to stop by and let you know that we are adopting a group of MAs in Kuwait to support during the month of September. If you would like more information or are interested in joining this effort, please go to Molly's Adopt A Sailor group on this site. Thank you.
