Hello
We look forward to hearing about your sailors journey. How he/she likes being an MAA (MA) and which kind of job they are doing and how you are doing knowing what your sailor does for a living.
NOTE: Please help keep our sailors safe. Don't give out exact locations.Example: If he/she is in Iraq you can say Iraq but I would not say the name of the camp or a town near the camp. If they are on a ship don't give the last known location. Although some of that is public we don't in anyway want to jeopardize them.

HeatherT, no, there is nothing ahead of time.  He will have to meet you at the gate.  Have him meet you at the gate the night before to get the paperwork you need to be on base to make things faster the next day.  There is a discussion within San Antonio MA's.

My son arrived @ Lackland on Saturday from RTC. Training began yesterday. It's great getting his texts and hearing how glad he is to be through with boot camp and how nice the base is.

kadie1, since the fall of 2008, the only "A" School for MA is at Lackland AFB near San Antonio.  Here is the Rating Information Card for MA: https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/ma.pdf.  "A" School is 7 weeks, but some are in Holding a week or 2, so the card indicates 9 weeks. Be sure to check out the top 3-4 Discussions in San Antonio MA's.

Why is there a difference in calendar days for MAA training. The school at Lackland is 40 days, while Kings Bay and Hampton Rd, Va. is days?
