Aww, Anita, I love those times! The last one of those I had was taking him to the surgeon to have his wisdom teeth taken out BEFORE boot camp. Recruiter kept saying "nah, wait until he goes to bc". NOT, so glad we didnt as he had dry sockets and had to go back. That would have been awful in BC! I think that is why a lot of people got sicker...
k-town, did yours get teeth pulled in BC? They do a great job, just that they are then open to more infections/viruses right?
chriscwick - GREAT story! Love it. Wonder if mine would stand firm... Probably, I noticed he is becoming quite a cocky Bugga! Family tells me that is how it's got to be. That explains our Navy father - very strict, yet flexible if that makes sense. We did see a lot of the world! That is where I got the moving/traveling bug.
K town, yes wondering how your son did. Having pneumonia is no joke. Cannot imagine going through OC on top of that. Mine got the crud at the beginning of BC and luckily got over it.
Welcome kt - having read quite a bit about MA's, my brother was a MP in the Marines and generally (not the voice of experience, just well read) they are generally not well liked. From what I have read chriscwick is spot on! My sister and brother are both deputy sheriffs and they are not liked at all when they pull someone over or book them in jail. On the other hand, when it all starts to go down they are the first ones called to the scene!
Congratualtions danbrisoap!
Mine went through OC spray yesterday and said he it was no big deal? Starting to wonder about that kid - Haha
Thank you Brenda Sue ~ a Navy, N4M, MAA, Mama is every bit as coolio if not more!
I'm not retired Navy - but I am currently a MA's mom. I live about 5 hours from San Antonio - and if possible I would LOVE to go pin a badge on a new MA in place of his mom.
My son went to MA school in Virginia. At his pinning ceremony, I was the ONLY mom there. There were a handful of other relatives (uncle and grandma - I think). I did not get to pin my son's badge on him. I wish I knew to ask. That was almost three years ago now.
trloquem - we are asking if anyone knows where an earlier comment is that I read that a San Antonio area Retired Sailor actually went to the ceremony, of his own accord and pinned an MAA cecause their family could not make it.
Anyone know of someone whe would do that? Such a gracious act of kindness?
