It won't be long before this will all be "Old Hat" to you too. Things come up for us as well that we have to check on with those who've "gone before" and this site is so great and someone always has an answer or can point to someone who does.
Hmmmm....that's an option too. So much to learn. I'm thankful to be in contact with you wise moms who have a handle on things. You who have "been there, done that, bought the t-shirt" are very much appreciated.
My Sailor pays $3.04 a month to call unlimited to any landline or mobile phone in the US with Skype. He had a Skype number that anyone can call him on and that was about $6 more per month, but if we need to speak to him, we email him and it has worked well, so he cancelled that. We also talk and/or do video chat for free on Skype if we are both online. MSN Messenger typing or video chat also work as well for us. He has his AT&T account suspended. When he comes home on leave, he gets a GO phone because he said it's cheaper than reactivating his AT&T phone.
Thanks for the info. I guess we'll go ahead and get his phone reactivated with AT & T. They seem to be very generous with the military about suspending the line and not charging while they are unable to use it. I got to figure this Skype thing out!
I also only talk to mine on Skype. It was amazing this morning. He has a friend in Brazil and I am in Texas and my son is in Greece and we were all chatting together.
If they do buy a phone, most buy one with a pre-paid plan in the place where they are stationed. Also, if they are on a ship, I understand that they buy phone cards to use and the best place to get them is at the NEX.
