Where do I find out information about the training for a Machinest Mate.  My son mentioned starting with BECC school and I would like to read more about this.  He is on hold for A school right now.  It has been 3 months - is this typical?

I was in a live chat and someone had mentioned that my SR might go on to C school after A school? He's MMS and attending A school in Groton, Conn. can anyone tell me where this "C school" would be and how lnf it would be for? And if he were to atend C school does me get leave inbetween A to C?

Right now my son is in boot camp but will be going to Pensacola Fl for school, from there we will find out then.

All submariner's do not attend school in Groton, CT.  The nuclear trained ones, attend school in Goose Creek, SC (MM, ET, & EM rates). They may stay in GC for Prototype or go to Ballston Spa, NY for Prototype, then out to the fleet.

I can only tell you what came from my son, but every one of them are given a schedule at the beginning of each section (A-school, Power School, Prototype).  It tells them every single subject, test date, boards, and graduation.  So, that said, your sailor will be fully aware of what is expected of her from day one.
