I volunteer at the Viles Arboretum and if anybody in the area needs to fill some time we need volunteers for facepainting and assisting during the Hunt on Easter Sunday. This is our 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt-last year we had 200 children participate and we anticipate the same this year. We also need candy, baskets, basket grass and egg dye.
We also need a computer savey person who can set up a system for us to stream live onto the web page events that occur here. And anyone who wants to just help out at a nature center.
WE ALSO INVITE YOU TO COME PLAY IN OUR MUSIC SESSION OR COME LISTEN TO SOME GOOD MUSIC!

Happy Valentine's Day to all you Moms!

Hi Ladies....I too thought I must be the only Maine Sailor Mom. Warming up here in Camden. Happy Valentines Day. I have grown used to my son getting his holiday gifts and cards sometime well after the holiday. The Navy way but tough for the traditional Mom.

Hi Tina, It is cold here in Lewiston!!  I believe it will be warming up though.  Keeping my fingers crossed.  I see you have a sailor and you survived boot camp.  Congratulations!

At the top of this page there in a member count...47 right now but it had not been very active. Keep hoping there will be somebody nearby to chat with. I flew Frontier I believe. It was much cheaper than to O'Hare. I left out of Boston as I picked up my parents on the way. My ex husband got a similar flight out of Portland. It was 40 minutes South on an easy highway right into Great Lakes. No Chicago craziness. The ability to change the flights is tempting as all sorts of Navy things may change the schedule. We went off without a hitch but many kids have delays or are sent home. As I said BC was very hard for me.

MEsailormom..Where did you fly out of and which airline? Those "wanna get away" tickets seem too good to be true. My husband swears they are legit and the way to go.  They do have free flight change but are non refundable. We can change but not cancel is how I look at that.

How can you tell how many members are in the forum?

@ Cathie...I flew into Milwaukee...cheaper and so easy to get to Great Lakes from there. Got that tip from an N4M member. Yes you will have your chance to see the toboggan races again. Annual event.

@mainemom....we should but I don't know of it happening. There are not many of us Maine members. My son says everybody is from Texas or California or the deep South.

Stay warm!!!
