Thanks for responding, I knew it was a long shot, but just had to know if they might be roommates! He will do fine, esp. once he classes up. My son had a lot of down time in the 2 weeks between bootcamp & stand down @ GC, he will start A school next week after he gets back. From what I hear they won't have much free time once school starts. The base is probably getting more and more active every day as sailors return from leave. Navy life is proving to be an interesting ride so far...

Hi Kathy, I posted a message on NukeMoms for you, but there have been so many posts the past day I was afraid you might not see it - it's buried about 5-6 pages back! I know it's a long shot, but my son is on leave and didn't have a roommate when he left, was pretty sure he'd have one when he returned to GC. Ask your son what room he is in, my son's room is #301. We live in Sacramento area, I see you are in Danville, practically neighbors when you consider how far away our boys are in GC...:) Welcome to the NukeMoms group, it's great!

Hi Kathy !! WE did receive 2 letters from S on sat. Here is my updates. They had their PFA (physical fitness assessment) only 5 people failed so they earned another flag.Started their live fire shooting on Nov 29 with m9 pistol. Tues Nov 30 was their drill inspection, if they flagged that (which he said should be no problem) they will have earned their Independant Flag which means their division can march wherever they need to go without their RDC's. Drill inspection means marchand they have random commands called to them in which they change into different formations. Wed Dec 1 was their 2nd acedemic test, Thurs Dec 2nd was pictures. He wrote this Nov 28th.So hopefully everything has gone as they planned !! He said they only have 2 weeks left and it seems to be flying by now. Hope this helps to catch you up. I know how hard it is to not have any contact. ~Donna~
