BTW - PIR was AWESOME this weekend. It was so great to see my son and see the changes in him. It was hard to say goodbye yesterday but at least he'll be fairly close by at Goose Creek, SC so we'll see him for Thanksgiving and Christmas this year.

Betsy - I always had a section in my letters "and now for the news" Then gave a brief rundown of what was going on in the world. My son requested it because he said he felt so isolated in bc. This gave him a connection to the rest of the world.

Cindy & Patricia, thank you for the suggestions. They are are great idea. I will defintely send cards for his division too. At least that way, they will all know that someone is pulling for all of them. I love the idea about the sports highlights. I do know that A will want to keep up the the Raven's. It's a shame they had a bye this week.

Pam, lol I didn't think anyone could write that much. :) That's a great idea about the kids who may not get mail. I will ask my son, if he notices any too. That would be so sad to be there and have no support from outside. Thanks

Joanne, that's awsome about your kids. You must be so proud of them. Thanks for the suggestion on the writing. My son told me not to write him everyday, but I told him that I would anyway. :) He left on Monday and since I just got his address yesterday, I have 4 letters and 2 cards to send out today. I know he will appreciate them.

hi Deneen, It's good to meet you. I hope you have a quick recovery and are feeling good.

Wow, 600 letters! That's incredible. I am a real slacker, as I am writing him once a day. That would be about 49 letters, I believe. I think they will graduate around Dec. 17, so that is 7 weeks. That's so awesome that he kept them all. How sweet

Lori, thanks. I know he will get sick of reading all the letters that I write, but oh well. My son thought I was obsessed with this website, before he left, but it's been a great source of information and support. I have 2 addresses now :( The one his recruiter gave me is different than the one on the RTC page. Ugh! I will just sent the letters to both right now and see which one he sends me back. :)

Betsy- my family thinks I'm "obsessed"- whatever!!! These ladies know what you are going through- 7 months later and this is my "Navy family." So glad you finally got an address. It will help you connect to your son. I would write about anything that was going on that day and when I asked him if it was boring he said "no mom I love it"- so write and get anyone who knows him to write as well. It is their "life line" to home.

Pam, that is funny. As you can probably tell by my name change, I did finally get his info. I am going to the post office today to mail the 4 letters and Halloween card that I already have for him. :)
I love the moms on here, everyone is awesome. They have been my lifeline for the last couple of months.
