Congrats Joniana!!
My son finally made it to South Carolina yesterday to start A school, after a two-month medical hold!
Yes, I think she was AnneohRN or something like that. I accidently found her in the CT moms group. She's moved.
But that's a good suggestion for Lorraine.
Lorraine, because we are small states, we often cross over to others. I live very close to RI, so I "infiltrated" that group. And when Sheryl, my partner in crime, & I were working on a regional packing party we each joined other states' groups. No harm in joining several.
Welcome Lorraine and Zanga-mom!! Things have been kind of quiet on our site lately, not sure why!! Probably the weather has something to do with that.
Lorraine, off hand I don't know of anyone from western MA that is active. We've had a lot of our sailors leave the Navy & often the Moms just leave their name on the members list (probably forgetting). Hopefully someone will speak up.....
Just wanted to let Dee, Ryan's Mum & Chelita -- we never heard a word back about the coffee. Nothing. They could at least have said no!! Very disappointed as I think we made a great case for support.
Just joined. My son will be meeting up with the Truman after his leave.
Is there anyone here from Western Mass?
Ryan's Mum, Dee & Chelita: I got the info from Huskerfan (Missi). It mainly involved writing a letter requesting a donation, but using the Massachusetts Navy Mom group working with Molly's on this adoption for Djibouti. I sent the request off this AM and got an automated reply. They will review the request and we should hear in about 2 weeks whether or not we will be receiving anything, something, or nothing. I am going to be very busy with family issues the 2nd week of February, so I may not be available to go and pick it up. But once I hear something, I am going to ask if they would consider shipping it directly to the troops there in Djibouti. I think it will go faster and will not cost us to take care of shipping.
I will keep the three of you in the loop, so we'll all know what is going on! Time to keep our fingers and toes crossed!!!
