I was chatting with Nick's mom from RI today and I have a question to pose to all of you.

October 30 would have been my 42 wedding anniversary and I am absolutely dreading the day!!!  If I could stay in bed with the covers over my head and cry all day I would.  But it wouldn't help.  So I have come up with another idea.

I'm thinking about having a packing party for the October group (they will be getting the boxes around Thanksgiving).  Looking at the following dates:  10/19, 26 or 27.

Anyone interested??  I was thinking of going with a Thanksgiving theme.  Snacks, pies in a jar, home-made cookies, nerf footballs, decorations - anything to encourage the "trash-talk" that seems to accompany football games with men!  Maybe we can try to get some donations of items from the Patriots??

Just a thought.

I'm going to start a discussion above so we can keep all our info together.

I received the most beautiful thank you card today. It embraced all of us and the common bond we share. Today is the 37th year that I have missed my Mother. She would be so happy that we all found each other. I know I am. And at the same time, with my oldest deployed, my youngest Sailor is driving out to Washington State, to meet his Sub, all by himself, and having a blast. It just doesn't get any better. Hugs, Johanna

Thank You Donna for keeping momentum going!

Anyone thinking of coming PM me and I will give you address/directions.

No worries if you are a last minute in, it's really about whoever comes has goodies to pack and hands to pack them with.

: )

Just a reminder note here.  IF you are coming & I really hope you are, you will need to "Friend" Chelita so that she can send you a PM with her info.

Also, please leave a comment here if you are coming.  Remember the party starts at 12PM.

If people want to carpool, this is the place to hook up with someone ... just sayin'

Hi Michelle, thanks for organizing this.  I will not know until the end of the week if I can come, so I'd appreciate it if you could keep me on the list.  Thanks.

Chelita, just got back from shopping and picking up some food items we like here in MA.  That plus some other things I picked up from Amazon, etc. should make a few boxes for MA sailors.
