OK then, it is 9/21. Packing party at my house!

I sure hope it ends up being more than just me and my dog !

My intention was to get veteran Mom experience ;0

I have just reached out to a couple of MA mom's I just connected with on the Navy Moms on FB site. We'll see what comes of it.

Just a thought!

Pick a date Michelle and we'll start banging on people's doors to get them to come out!!  :)  Who knows maybe we can get the 3 Army Moms to come too?  I'll see Becky on Sunday and ask her if they'd like to come and help.  They are meeting tomorrow AM to try to organize Army moms.  They invited me, but my son is off and he has offered to help me with the basement.  Can't turn down an offer like that!!  There are a few Moms on the north shore, we'll have to send them personal invitations on their "pages".  That may get some attention.

Just let us know what you need us to do.  We've got your back - promise.

Whichever day the most people can come works for me. I guess we have to wait to see who can make it?

So far seems Johanna and Donna are maybes and Dee, you can do the 21st?

Ladies?

So, I am learning that there are parallel conversations going on between this site and the MAS site.

I must admit it's a little confusing but I'll try to keep up!

I hope we can make a party happen, it will be a great help to me to learn how this whole process works from you seasoned veterans! ;)

Anyone else in??

Michelle (Chelita), I am going to try to make it.  I have my first new PT appt. on Monday and that will give me a better idea of how I will be moving.  Right now my knee is so swollen it is nearly impossible to even bend - not good.  But, the appt. with the surgeon was still a blessing.  I've been trying to see or talk to him since April without success.  Of course, there was a lag of time when I didn't even bother calling because that was around the time my hubby died.  We knew something wasn't right with the knee, but the messages just weren't getting thru to him.  Well, when he saw it he really wasn't happy.  Wanted to know why I hadn't seen him sooner or at least called.  Told him I had, but wouldn't be given an appt.  I think I saw steam coming from his ears?!! lol  I'm angry it has taken until Sept. to find this out, but at least now something can be done.  Hopefully through PT and not more surgery.  But one day at a time, right?  Just not going to think too far ahead.  Too much else to do.

I can't make it that weekend.  I am volunteering at Woofstock, a Shelter fundraiser on Saturday and then am at the shelter on Sunday, so sorry.

Chellita, thanks for the invite to the packing party but I already have commitments both days for that weekend, another time for sure!

Don't feel badly if you can't make it.  In MAS we have many, many mommas who live in states where they are never able to get together with others and so they just pack and ship on their own.

Comment by Proud Navy/NYPD Mom (Donna) on September 12, 2013 at 8:33pm

Well, Moms - you've got the offer of a place for a packing party!  Anyone interested in attending be sure to leave a comment for Chelita right away.  We don't have much time to get our items together, packed and shipped out to this ship.
