Besties4dogs. Don't worry about vacation. He'll call when he gets there and then not again until somewhere 1/2 way through. I got about 3 letters. Ellen
Proud Navy/NYPD Mom (Donna)~ As soon as I know I will let you ladies know...My 20 year class reunion was scheduled for Aug 31st at Goddard Park in RI but then there was talk of them changing the date...hopefully I will hear or know something soon.
Thanks Donna!!
I've just texted him to let him know.
I wish I could come to the get together but we will be on vacation from the 24th to the 31st of August. My son leaves for bootcamp on the 22nd and I am so afraid I am going to miss phone calls, the box, and the letter while we are gone. I would have never planned this trip if I had known his date would be moved up to August :(
On top of that, one of my rescue dogs tore her ACL (she is only 11 lbs) and will now be going with us on vacation and she hates people!
I hope everyone has a great time!

@Heather: I'm hoping since you are from Bellingham that you will be coming to the lunch at Johanna's?? If you are, please leave a comment here so numbers can be confirmed & Johanna can get directions to you. You will need to "friend" her so she can send you a PM. See you soon?
@ Chelita, my son said he should follow-up on his request for leave. He didn't think it should take this long - at least not usually. So he should go to the person he turned in his request to and follow the line from there. Maybe someone just "forgot" to tell him??!!
Hello Ladies,
I hope you all are enjoying the summer! I am looking forward to meeting as many as possible at Johanna's in a few weeks!
I have a question for you veteran Moms:
What's the deal with waiting on leave chits?
My sailor put in for leave at least 5 weeks ago and still hasn't heard!
he put in for 8/17-28 and it is coming up fast. I worry about getting him flights to and from San Diego.
Any words of wisdom other than "wait"?
Thanks!!
Finally found this group Donna! Just back from San Antonio where my sailor became a Corpsman! Was awesome to be able to be there! Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!
