Thanks for asking - This year we are shipping to Sailors on the USS Dwight D Eisenhower,Soldiers in Afghanistan, Airmen in Russia, and Marines on the USS Palau.
We had to start somewhere and the 3Moms all have boys (and friends) deployed in these locations. Next year we hope they will be home and paying it forward to others in need of a gift from home.
Good job Darlene! Who are you shipping to? Anyone we know?
I wanted to pop-in and say hello! 3Moms 1Mission has our packing party yesterday. We filled 213 boxes! I have to tell you it's been so worth the time and effort and can't wait to start planning for our next event to start raising money for our next packing. You have all inspired me so much, I thank each and every one of you and consider you all part of my Navy sisters-hood. Thank you!
To all the Massachusetts Navy Moms who haven't responded to the S. New England Regional Packing Party (& you know who you are!) --
OK, so we are doing something different this time! Yes, we realize the location is out of everybody's comfort zone who usually attend. BUT, there are other Navy Mommas in MA than just us in the Boston area.
Come on everybody! This is for the troops. It'll be the first packing party in December for the month's adoptees. Let's show what hearty, patriotic moms we are and make this one the best ever.
And, to those of you out in the western part of the state (again, you know who you are!) -- this party was planned with YOU in mind. We hear how it is so far to travel east. And, we want to give everyone the chance to get involved. So here is your chance. This was the most centrally located, FREE place we could find to have the party. Now 'the ball is in your court'! Won't you consider joining in on the fun?
The response from MA Navy Moms has been - how shall I put this? - pitiful!! We can do a whole lot better. There is always carpooling, so we can split the cost of gas. Come On Everyone, let's get going here.
A QUICK NOTE TO YOU ALL:
On Wednesday morning I am having a knee replacement procedure done. It has totally come upon me out of the blue. I thought it was something like sciatica (sp?), but it turned out that my left knee has totally disintegrated. No wonder I was having trouble walking, falling and in terrible pain!
So I won't be able to access a computer, possibly for up to 2 weeks. If you have any questions, please, please feel free to contact Sheryl, her info is in the above discussion. And, I will certainly let you know when I'm back with my beloved computer! lol
A new CT Mom will help Sheryl with any questions from that state.
Can anyone here in MA step up and fill my place so Sheryl doesn't have this all on her shoulders?!
Next time, Yankee's Mom you will have to come north and go with me. I almost wore the Murphy t-shirt my family bought me, but settled on the "Proud NAVY Mom" instead. It really was a lot of fun! Such energy in that room it was truly amazing!! Really hoping he wins - the Democrat running against him is a flaming liberal (excuse me, Hahhvahhhd Professor! lol) All she wants to do is spend, spend and spend some more. Well, we will find out tonight, right?
Rubbin' elbows with him wasn't bad either!!!
He saw my sign and added to his speech: "My job in Washington will be to make sure that we have the military's backs. I will do all in my power to bring your children home!" He's got my vote.
The front of my sign at Sen. Scott Brown's rally in Wrentham tonight. Notice he autographed it for me!
The back of my sign for the TV cameras!!!
And, Sen. Brown & me. A little old lady was pushing me from behind! I nearly fell into his arms! Wouldn't have been so bad -- WOW, what a good looking man.....
