Hi Lauren!
I don't have a child leaving today ... I've been thru GL already, but I just wanted to say that I am here if you want to talk. It has been kind of quiet on here lately, maybe it is because everyone is trying to squeeze the last of outside activities in before the cold weather settles down on us.
But regardless, I'll be checking back in here to see how you are doing or you can always send me a PM.
Hang in there my friend!! This is a hard time you are entering, just remember that your fellow Navy moms have your back! And, we are here for you.
Hugs to you!
A picture from Molly's page: WE NEED TO USE MORE TAPE ON OUR PACKAGES!!! I always need to re-tape boxes that were starting to come open just waiting to receive the postage labels ....
Pam, so you noticed that tall, very handsome sailor in the pic, did you?!?! He is one extra special young man - you and your hubby must be so proud. He was so sweet on our tour, just loved meeting him. (I know he will get mail & care packages from home, but ask him to keep an eye out for anyone who doesn't - I'd be honored to adopt a Murphy Sailor!) Also, it was such a special treat that you and I got to meet each other's sons. :)
Not much happening on here! Anybody want to do SOMETHING?!!
A fun & productive "Sew Your Support" event today!! 47 beautiful pillowcases were made. Pics will be posted later. Thanks to the ladies who attended.
Anyone else coming that I haven't heard from yet??
TO EVERYONE: This Sunday, 9/30, is our "Sew Your Support to the Troops" event sponsored by The Quilter's Stash. It begins at 12:30P and will end promptly at 4:30P. If you are coming please let me know ASAP.
If you sew, please bring along your sewing machine (if it is portable, or course). Material and thread is provided so there is no cost to you.
If you don't sew, I still need you!! People are needed to press seams, pin fabric and trim threads. We will have coffee available, but if a few could bring some snacks it would be very helpful (to me, I won't have to spend all day tomorrow baking!).
There are 7-9 community women who are committed to being there. We really need some Navy Moms there to help show our appreciation for the work they are doing.
This is the 2nd time Sue at Quilter's Stash has done this event for us. Last time I was the only Mom -- please, please do everything you can so we can have a better representation this time around. (Sorry, now I sound like my mother putting on a guilt trip ... but it was embarressing to be the only Mom.)
Welcome Lauren68!! I'm so glad you've joined Massachusetts Navy Moms. We are trying to become a more active group, I hope to meet you IRL sometime soon.
