Hi I am out in Hampden MA, my son is on his way to A school in San Antonio for MA training after completing bootcamp in Great Lakes. I was just there this weekend watching his graduation. Looking forward to reading and sharing with other MA MOM and in my case any MA (Master of Arms) moms, wife and other family members.

I know you've heard from me several days in a row. Sorry. I won't "nag" you to vote this time! What I was wondering is if we are planning to get together sometime this month, or is it out of the question for everyone?
If not July, how about August?? Anyone interested in getting together sometime soon?

To all MA Navy Moms: MAS has jumped to #27 (see preceding comment), but is holding there (2 days now)! Please take the time to vote. Think about how many boxes can be shipped with $50K ...!!! And many of those boxes will reach sailors, and others, from MA. Let's help Molly out, MA Navy Moms.

Just a reminder: Don't forget to vote for Molly's Adopt a Sailor in the Pepsi Refresh Project. MAS (Molly's adopt a sailor) is in the running for a $50,000 prize. Currently MAS is 31st on the list, but has to make it into the top 10. Even if you don't belong to MAS, would you go to the attached link and cast your vote. Then vote everyday for the rest of July. There is a sign-in link, because they want to make certain people aren't getting votes from computers!! Here's the site (I hope it comes through as a link!!) http://www.refresheverything.com/mollysadoptasailor

Thanks.

Hi fellow MA Moms! I just wanted to give you a quick update on my Dad. We went to Beth Israel this AM and got the bad news that his tumor has grown substantially despite the chemo. The docs offered additional chemo treatments with 2nd line drugs, but they would have to be combined (2 or more to make any difference) and the side effects are horrific. Dad decided to stop treatment as of today. They will treat symptoms as they arise, but there is nothing else that can be done. Radiation is out too. I can't remember or think of anything else to tell you all right now - I feel numb & a little angry and a lot like a deflated balloon. I'd love more than anything to just go to bed and sleep and forget for a little while that this is it. Thank you all for your prayers, they've helped me thru a very difficult day and I still believe that prayers can heal him even if the docs can't. So thank you all for your thoughts & prayers. I love you all

Hey Central Mass! Good to see your name again. I've moved a lot and I wasn't even married to a military man, he's a retired minister so I've lived in NJ, NY, ME, NH and now MA, but we will stay in MA at least for now. That being said we are moving from Mansfield to Plainville - not too far from where we are now. We won't be moving until July. Our last day here will be July 30. They are making us give 60 days notice, so we'll end up paying for 2 places in July. Andrew says that is fine by him, we can move things gradually, but live here and use the pool. I'm with him! We've got some good ideas, but no dates yet and nothing really nailed down. I guess it is down to decision time. I'll try to reach my old boss and ask her the names of some of the restaurants she took us to for staff meetings. It will be nice to go back to some of those places for a fun time. We (her staff) always knew we were in trouble if it was a really nice place. The nicer the restaurant the more trouble we were in. That was when I was a professional fund-raiser. I loved the work, but had to stop. Something happened and I was just unable to go out and ask for money. Oh well. They say time heals all things, so I guess that is what is needed -- more time. We'll talk soon. We have some rescheduling to do.

Tami, forgot to ask - have you posted any pictures??

Hi Tami! I should have thought of you right away! You will probably end up suggesting something I should have thought about but just forgot! I know that our boss took us to lunch a couple of places maybe you can remember their names - one was in Newburyport right on the water, actually a floating restaurant although moored to land but it was between 2 bridges - one a trestle bridge the other just a regular bridge. She also took us to some place down along the Merrimack River (I know it isn't the ocean but it had great seafood) strike any cords with you? How was PIR? I hope the weather was great and you had a wonderful time. Take care. Donna

Hi Donna something up this way would be nice. I'll do some checking around and see if there would be a nice place to meet.

How about north shore somewhere? Any North Shore Moms out there? Now is a time to let us know about you. We haven't had anything in your area and maybe there are Moms out there from that area who would like a meeting place closer to their homes for a change? We used to live in Pelham, NH and I worked in Lowell - but that's as far east as we got
