Any more thoughts about getting together for lunch this summer? We are planning to move the end of June, but I'd make time to see you all whenever.
Jennifer, Pam says you are trying to put together something for Boston Fleet Week. Do I have that right? I know the fleet is in NYC this week-end, so maybe I misunderstood.

Hi Ladies,
Thank You for the welcome ! :) We received a short letter today. My son sounds positive. He was in dep for 10 months so he was ready to go. I believe Battlestations is next week and his PIR is on May 21. I'm so looking forward to seeing him and attending the graduation and hopefully meeting some of the folks he has been in Boot Camp with. Then he will be in GL for A school to train to be a corpsman.
I would love to help with the adopt a unit if you ladies could use another hand. :)

Hi All, I'm new to The Ma Mom Navy web site. My son is about 4 weeks into boot camp. I'm really looking forward to another letter although I suspect he's using his free time to sleep. I hear graduation is something to see and excited about that and hearing all the boot camp stories. Donna, thank you for suggesting this group. :) Your family is in my thoughts. Please take care.

Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't been "on" in a while. Everything has been moving so fast for my family, particularly my Dad, that I' feel like I'm racing just trying to keep up. I guess that is the name of the game with pancreatic cancer - it waits for no man or woman. My Dad had his biopsy last Tuesday afternoon. Hopefully we get the results on Monday or Tuesday, but I won't be surprised if we don't hear until Thurs. The wait is so difficult. He is doing fairly well & is just so strong. My Mom on the other hand seems to be fading away with each passing day as she worries about him. Guess that happens after 59+ yrs of marriage. My husband and younger son took me to NY to visit with Matthew and his wife, Amanda. it was a great break from all the things I've been trying to do to keep things going for them and my own family. We took my Dad to Beth Israel Deaconess. The doc who did the biopsy said that just be looking at it he is 99.99% certain it is cancer and malignant. We still don't know what - if anything - they can do for him. Guess we find that out next, after the results, when he is assigned an oncologist. My sister and brothers and their families who live out of state have been making visits, with the older grandchildren coming on their own to spread the visitors out. (I have 6 siblings.) It is nice to have them come around so often, but bittersweet too since we all know the reason why, we just don't talk about it. I want you all to know how much I appreciate the emails and messages you have sent my way. You are all great! Not only is there support for our sailor sons and daughters, but for other issues too. I just cannot thank you all enough. You give me so much strength to face each day. God bless each and every one of you.

Hi Everyone! Sorry to have missed the lunch on Saturday. My Dad wasn't feeling well all week & all I did was run around with him - dr.'s appts., drug store, etc. etc. and then start over again. They did a CT scan on Friday evening. Got the report yesterday - it is pancreatic cancer. As some of you know my uncle died of pancreatic CA last month, so this has set the family rocking! Would really appreciate your prayers for both my parents and strength for the family. Talk to you soon & I really hope you all had a good time!! Always, Donna
