Hi ya.  Our son is stationed in Meridian, and now going on leave.  Anyone close by, want to offer him a home cooked meal?  lol.

To Mmejia, They don't go home after BC. You sailor will fly out early the next morning to go to Meridian. You can take them stuff they will need but remember whatever you take them has to fit in their black bag they will get there. You might have your sailor check and see if they can have an extra bag at that time.

To Laurie1029, My son is an YNSR and the answer to your question is yes. My son bought his laptop there because he needed it. Your sailor can have whatever he thinks he needs.

after boot camp do you ship everything to your son/daughters to their A school? do you take it to them after BC graduation? do they get to come home in between and get belongings? like laptops/ Ipads etc.. My son goes to bootcamp 7/3 then off to Aschool in Meridian..

I have a quick question, my son will be going to A school in Meridian (YN position).  Will it benefit him to bring his own laptop or IPAD for his schooling or anything else he may need it for?

Hello everyone, my son arrived to Meridian on 12/1/12.  He is flying home for Christmas on the 21st, however there are no shuttles that go from the base to Jackson airport.  Does anyone know how I can get him to Jackson besides paying big $$$ for a taxi?  Any suggestions are so appreciated!

Glad he's doing good. I hope he gets to come home after A school for a visit. When do they begin to know where they might be stationed?
