Oh I love pierogis too!  The first time our now DIL visited us in CA she made us pierogis - we had never had them before.  Now they are a regular menu item at our house - love them with sausage and onions and peppers.

Oh pierogies!!!  They are so good!  Love them

Norfolk is a 13 hour drive for me from my side of the state. (I'm on the west side)

Hi Y’all,   I can’t believe it’s almost Christmas. Yesterday we made almost 200 pierogis. We eat them on Christmas Eve. My son is still waiting for his orders and fingers crossed he’ll be stationed at Norfolk.

Hi PKM!  My sailor is in Virginia now, and we feel blessed that it's an easy day drive to visit him. He's been in for 2 1/2 years now.  Last year, we visited him for the July 4 holiday weekend and also drove there for Thanksgiving to bring the feast to him (rented a house) because he was able to take a couple days of local leave from his command.  This year, we did the same for Thanksgiving even though he didn't have leave but he did have the day of Thanksgiving off and then joined us in the afternoon/evening of the other days while we were there.  Those little holiday road trips have really helped us fill up on some hugs and family time.  We also talk to him on most days and we have fun exchanging funny memes on a family group text when we all need a laugh.  These past couple years have been so hard on military families.  Now more than ever, focusing on the positives and counting our blessings will get us through!
