Is time for wine tasting 2pm?
Comment by Lorraine on June 28, 2014 at 12:35pm

tysmom, I had a great time at last year's card making event and I encourage everyone to consider getting to one or both of these. I am not available on July 16th but will try to keep August 20th open. Thanks for doing this again!

See some of you on Sunday at the wine tasting. It's not too late to jump on board!

On Wednesday July 16 from 1 to 8pm @ Trinity CRC, 60 Port Sheldon in Grandville, I have scheduled a card making day for Operation Write Home. You are welcome to stay the whole day, but if your busy life only allows you to come for shorter time that is fine too. We will have assorted card making supplies, but if you are a card maker we are encouraging you to bring supplies (ex:slicer and tape runners) along to share, or you can stop at the nearest craft store and purchase some. You will have your own table to work at. A light dinner and snacks will be served. If you would like to come please RSVP (we need to know how many tables to set up) and go to OWH website to get an idea of what they expect of the cards we make..Never made a card, we will help you or you can make Hero cards. When your sailors go on deployment you can request a box for their boat or ship, but you would need to check with the ombudsman. We have also scheduled Aug 20 for a card making day.

Lori...you are right...when we were in HI my son went to his place and hauled out his big screen TV and his playstation to the car and brought it to the cottages....but if you have a crowbar????

Michimom, asked my son how someone could steal things like a tv and no one notice.  He said guys are always coming and going with things.  Example, moving in and out, buying and selling so no one really pays attention.  That is too bad.  Hopefully, they will catch who did it.

Lori, he's in Pearl Harbor and many people in his barracks (I believe also his roommate) had things taken.  I'm hoping there were security cameras somewhere because his tv wasn't tiny, so maybe cameras will show someone carrying things out in the parking lot or something like that.  At least they didn't take his laptop or his phone; looks like they only took things that would be easily sold and not easily identified by their owners.  And, no, he didn't have renter's insurance; didn't think he needed it in the barracks.
