I got a text from my sailor, a visit from my daughter/SIL/grandson, and a phone call from our other son who is working 7 days a week. Add that to our perfect weather and it was a wonderful day.
Sharon, I'm glad the poison ivy is getting better and that your sons can see each other.
Marianne, Katie sounds like a girl who makes the best of her opportunities.
Happy to hear that many heard from their sailors.

Went to church with my sons this AM and heard from both my daughters too.  Katie called from the Bush. Yesterday they had a swim call.  She said she jumped off the elevator (about 25 ft) twice....once during the regular swim and later with the 'stragglers'.  Katie had a great time and is looking forward to the next one!

Happy Mother's Day!!!! Wishing you a wonderful and blessed day!!!

Thank you for the thoughts and prayers for Korey! His poison oak / ivy is much improved. He ended up going back to medical and they finally gave him a steroid injection which helped him quickly! He should have received it while still at Camp Pendleton. He would have never gotten as bad as he did. He is still on the oral steroids though almost done! He is a bit puffy from them as well. Our Sailor, Kyle has been able to drive over to the base and pick Korey up and spend the day together. So glad our boys can see each other on the weekends when Kyle is able. Korey won't class up for a couple of weeks yet, taking it all in stride.

I am game for the 22nd to get together. It will be fun!! I just found out that Shelly worjs with another friend of mine!! Small world for sure!!

Kathy, I'm still good on either date in June.

Sharon, I sympathize with your son who has poison ivy/oak. My husband is extremely allergic. He always washes good with Fels Naptha soap if he's been cutting wood. I think maybe Wet Ones might cut the oil as well if he were to carry a few packets with him just in case. I think a baking soda paste on the breakout can also help. I hope he's over the worst.

Funny cartoons Ruth!  Thanks for sharing.

Sharon, praying for a speedy recovery for your son.  That  allergic reaction is crazy.

Welcome Emptynestnow!

I am one of the new M4M's who attended the gathering at Zingerman's Roadhouse- it was so good to meet everyone!  I'm the one in pink and my son is on a sub. I got to have him home for 2 weeks at the beginning of March- such precious times!  It had been over 15 months since we were together.

Sharon- it sounds like a good plan for your son; the meds will quiet all that down pretty quickly. He's in my prayers.

It was so fun to meet up in A2! Looking forward to the next gathering, I like the wine tasting idea as well as the picture painting; but was also just happy to sit and chat 'n chew, lol.

Ruth, that is a funny cartoon!! I have seen it a few times and chuckle each time! :)

KathyB, in regards to the wine tasting, it would have to be on 22 June because the 15th is Father's Day. Don't think that day will work for anyone. Another idea is to do the Painting Sensations. There are a few places such as this, though under different names. That would be a fun time to have everyone do a painting while drinking wine. Another idea for a group outing!!

Our Marine went back to medical today for his poison oak/ivy and he is allergic to it. They will be placing that on his dog tags. He has continued to get worse over the weekend. He ended up seeing a Major today and he took the time to explain everything to him and how it has affected his system. He told him each time he gets it that the reaction will be worse and that is not good. They have him on steroids, antibiotic, antihistamine, and a cream. He is really a mess, it will take a bit to get him cleared up. Thank goodness his MOS training doesn't start for a few weeks. He can take this time to get healthy again. They were upset that Camp Pendleton released him to fly to VA. with having it. I am sure someone will hear about it. Yeah, he should have been held until he was cleared up. He returns to medical on Friday for a re-check. Prayers that he will better with all the meds they have him on.
