oh one more thing about the page... has anyone had any luck with the Navy speak working? not one ac. that I have put in in the past three and a half years works.  for me it's a waste of space.

I am voting for a get together in a warmer state and like really soon!  I know there is nothing we can do about the weather but it is getting harder and harder to say how very pretty it is out.  Did any of you see the little video of the gal smacking the snowmans head off?  yea it gave me a bit of a giggle.  Stay warm and push on.  You know our Sailors are doing the same.

I guess I like the new format. It looks less busy and some of the extra information seems clearer. I see the Official Guide to PIR Ceremony which should be helpful to new moms.

Ruth, I can't even imagine getting those buses on the road with all those problems. I hope you fully recover this weekend. Looks like cold until Monday and Tuesday night and then we're on the upswing.

Tysmom, Did your son mention the temp in HI? It might warm us up to know how warm it is there :-)

Comment by tysmom on February 28, 2014 at 7:07am

-12 that is COLD!!!! And it may drop a couple more before sunrise.

My son returned to HI from a short underway.

Okay, when did I move to the tundra?  Bright side: it is sunny. lol  I am really starting to have fun with this "trying" to find the bright side to things.

Kathy B is right, even at 40 the snow will melt. I'm amazed at the amount of melting that took place in just two days of above freezing temps last week. And Uli posted on FB that that the thunderstorms reduced the ice on Lake Michigan from 60% frozen over to 38% frozen over. We just might be surprised at how fast spring can arrive. Unfortunately spring can't do anything to help the potholes - gonna be a bad year for roads.

LoriM, not fun to get bad results from cleaning window treatments, but picking out new ones could be fun.

Hi Ladies, so much for looking at the brighter side of things. I decided to be very ambitious today and take down may window treatments in the great room and wash, iron and rehang them.  Well, needless to say they don't look like they did when I first put them up.  They are the sheer scarf types.  I did 2 out of 3 windows.  I am not doing the last one, it can just stay like that.  Not a happy camper here, but on the brighter side trying to figure out just how old they are and is it time to get something new in its place.  Sorry for the rant.
