Ruth, glad to hear that your ankle is starting to feel better, Even though now you were sick. This winter has been crazy with cold, snow and illness.
That was great about your son almost being in the Olympics. I am sure there is a lot of politics involved. Any type of sport now a days seems that way. Where did playing for fun go?
That is awful to hear about the corpsman whose wife is handing him divorce papers. I hope it doesn't have anything to do with him being injured. Either way he is better off without her. I am sure he will still be able to see his children.
That is great that your son will have a long weekend. My son is underway--I wonder if they do anything for Valentines? Cookies, cakes, candy. lol
Ruth, I hope that ankle keeps getting better. I think PT is supposed to be uncomfortable, an unfortunate side effect of increasing mobility. Glad you're getting the swim class. Hopefully you can work the ankle and keep improving. I'm so sorry this winter is making your job difficult. You are a trooper to keep going!
cmcninch, any update on your daughter and granddaughter? Hoping the baby will be fine.
Is everyone enjoying the olympics?
Sorry, ladies, I've been AWOL too long! Couldn't totally catch up, but offering prayers for those in need. Hope the power of prayer helps.
Nothing much to report at my end. My sailor is still under the sea somewhere, although I did get an attempted phone call from somewhere. I'm not sure where because the only words I could understand were: "Can you understand what I'm saying?" After that, the connection was terrible, so I got a text that he would try to call me from his next port. That was a month ago, but nothing from him since then. I've been a good mom and sent him emails telling him of the great weather he's missing (hah!). Just hope he's staying warm and dry.
Hoping that we can manage some sort of get-together, but Mother Nature isn't making it easy, is she? Soon, I hope.
Meanwhile, everyone take care!
Just came back from my workout, the roads are awful--so be careful if you have to go out.
Kathy, so sorry to hear about what happened. Hope your daughter is doing well with this situation.
cmcninch, congrats on the new baby. Have a friend whose DIL gave birth at about the same time frame. The baby is still in the hospital but is thriving and gaining weight. Hope your Navy daughter is doing better. I am sure she will make some new friends as she is working.
Ruth, how is your ankle?
Prayers and thoughts to everyone.
Will pray for the family and the school community.
Oh Kathy, I'm so saddened to hear that. Praying for the family. I wish they would've asked for help. Prayers for your daughter too.
Ruth, your poor ankle. At least it was only a sprain could have been worse.
Praying for those boys and their families.
Good news--got an email from my son who is underway(1st time). He is glad that I figured out how to send him emails and said to keep them coming. He is doing well but very stressful at times. He is working on his quals--he said he is not ahead but he is not behind.
The sun is out today, hopefully it will melt some snow:)
PIR, yes amazing for all!! Ruth some things in life are just so awful but thankful that these men got the wonderful treatment they did and lives were saved. Prayers going out. Now your poor ankle, this snow is very deceiving and many are getting hurt . hoping for a bit of a thaw just a little at a time so the basements don't flood. Take care everyone and also hoping I may get out of the house this week.
Sorry to hear about your foot Ruth. Speedy healing for you.
Praying for all involved in the Afg. thing. So scary.
I just love to see the commercials during the game. And the 1/2 time show.
