Ruth, I'm so glad Mike and Casey are recovering. I wish these things didn't happen at all, but these guys really put their lives on the line. The injured Marine who was introduced at the State of the Union this past week had been to Astan 10 times. That is sad. I know you worry about your son being over there. I really hope that doesn't happen.
What a winter. Stay safe everyone. Hope your foot heals, Ruth.
Looking forward to hearing about PIR, Christina.

Christina, I do remember you mentioning the position. Your son gets to leave right away, but hopefully you get him for the day on Friday. My son had several days before he went to A school. He's a nuke MM.

Lorraine, he will be leaving for San Antonio Saturday to train for Master At Arms (military police). We are leaving early tomorrow morning to head to Great Lakes. :)I'm so excited.

Christina, thanks for reminding us of all our good PIR memories and for sharing your beautiful flowers. Have a great time at PIR and how wonderful that your son will be easy to spot. My son got to play in the band so he was also easy to find. Does your son know yet how soon he moves on to A school or whatever is next? What will he be doing for his Navy career?

I received my last weekly delivery today, at least I think it is the last. He is amazing.

Yvette, sorry to hear about your son.  When it rains it pours.  Things will get better.  I was surprised to hear that the chief called you about what happened.  I am sure if something does happen to your sons car/license he can some how prove that he was underway.

Christina, congrats on your "new" sailor.  Just tell him he can't call you ma'am. LOL.  Enjoy your time with him--it still brings tears to my eyes.

Hey Marianne - how is the weather in the A2 area?  I am planning on being over the 2/21-23.  Keep me informed.  If it's this nasty, I won't be able to make the trip.

New man indeed!  You will see all kinds of changes in him.  Very respectful, more reserved and grown up.  And manners you might have never seen before, right down to you taking his left arm when walking - gotta keep the right hand free to salute.  No holding hands in uniform.  Remember to take lots of tissues and a camera.  And remember to breathe when the big doors open!  Travel safe.

Christina - have a wonderful time this weekend! Safe travels!
